Overview

The quantity of mobile traffic varies for each store, but on average, roughly 50% of users access websites via mobile devices. Users are more likely to leave a store if a page takes longer than 5 seconds to load, raising the bounce rate and resulting in revenue losses. Furthermore, search engines penalize sluggish pages by ranking them lower on search results pages. The worst part about this predicament is that optimizing shop pages without development is nearly hard.

To address the issue, Google introduced Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP), an open-source project that assists website owners in speeding up mobile loading. To boost loading speed, the project includes code that validates every piece of content and loads only valuable sections of it. The AMP addon for Magento 2 is intended to incorporate Google code into store pages and deliver content more quickly. As a result, potential buyers will not leave your store right away, and organic search will send additional visitors to the website. With the plugin, you can select which sites to optimize, make design changes, and solely use AMP for Google results.

  • Higher Mobile Search Rankings: Google and other search engines may prioritize AMP pages in mobile search results, potentially boosting the visibility of your e-commerce site on mobile devices.
  • Enhanced SEO Performance: AMP can positively impact your website's search engine optimization (SEO) by providing a faster and more mobile-friendly experience, which can result in better rankings and increased organic traffic.
  • Increased Conversion Rates: The improved user experience and faster load times associated with AMP can lead to higher conversion rates on mobile devices. This means more sales and revenue for your e-commerce business.
  • Ad Support: AMP pages allow for the integration of ads, which can be a revenue source for your e-commerce site. These ads can load quickly and seamlessly on AMP pages.
  • Streamlined Checkout Process: AMP extensions for Magento can be customized to optimize the checkout process, making it easier and quicker for customers to complete their purchases. This can reduce cart abandonment and boost sales.

  • Adaptability: AMP pages adapt well to various screen sizes and devices, ensuring a consistent and user-friendly shopping experience for customers on different mobile platforms.
