Overview
Back to topGoogle Maps is a web mapping service developed by Google. It offers satellite imagery, aerial photography, street maps, real-time traffic conditions, and route planning. Google Maps also offers an API that allows maps to be embedded on third-party websites and offers a locator for businesses and other organizations in numerous countries around the world.
Zip Code Based Pricing extension allows the admin to set the different prices of a product for different zip codes. On the storefront, the customer will be prompted to enter the location and based on the address, the product price will be changed automatically. Moreover, the admin can also set zip code-based tier prices and special prices for each product. There are two ways to upload zip code product pricing - manual and upload CSV method.
Business Value
Managing the cost of different products at different locations is a vital task for any retailer. Like sellers can offer lower pricing to customers who are located near the drop shippers or warehouses or charge a premium price for customers situated at far-off locations. This will help merchants to add the different prices of a single product for the different zip codes. Through the zipcode pricing module, the zipcode ranges and custom pricing can be set for the product. This makes work easy to set the pricing by covering many zip codes. The admin can add the pricing for any zipcode bands in bulk for the single product by uploading a CSV file. This makes the work easy and hassle-free. It can be either tier-based price or product-based price.

How Does The Extension Works?

Zipcode-Based Product Pricing
Once the basic details of the product are filled in, the admin can go to Zipcode Based Product Price section. There are two ways to mention the zip codes and their respective product pricing - Manually or Upload via. CSV.
Add Zipcode-Based Price Manually
Once the admin selects the Manually method click on Add Row. Now the admin has to fill in the following parameters- zipcode range values, product prices, special prices [optional] and click save. Also, once the zip code row is added, the admin can again edit the product price and special price for that zip code range.
Upload Zipcode CSV
When the admin selects the Import CSV File method then the admin needs to prepare the spreadsheet file, click upload, check values and then click import. The sample CSV is also available to download.
Zipcode-Based Special Price
The admin can choose the display product’s special price based on different zip codes. So, rather than displaying the default special price of the product for all zip codes, the admin can select the option to show special prices for specific zip codes as well.
Zipcode-Based Tier Price
When the admin wants to add the tier price for the particular zipcodes there are two methods for it. That is adding it manually or importing the CSV file method. After selecting the manual method the admin will enter in the following parameters- website, customer group, zip code range, quantity, price type (fixed/percent), and value.
Please Note - The admin needs to set tier price in the Advanced Pricing section first and then set zipcode based tier pricing. The Zip Code Based Tier Pricing will automatically override the default tier price of the product. Also, for other zipcodes not mentioned, the default tier price rule will apply.
Google Maps Address Autocomplete
When a customer visits the webstore he will be prompted to enter the location. The address is auto-filled using Google Maps API. Based on the customer’s entered location zip code, the pricing will be changed automatically. Also, if there is any special price or tier price are set for that zip code or product, it will also be shown on the product page.
