Power BI Connector for Magento 2 allows the store admin to export the order and invoice data to Power BI. 

After that, the admin can create interactive visualizations that can then be imported into the Adobe Commerce store for visualization purposes.

The extension enables the smooth transfer of pertinent data from your Magento 2 store to Power BI, allowing for comprehensive analysis, reporting, and visualization.

How Does Power BI Connector Work?

Store Admin Workflow

Configure API Credentials

After the successful installation of the extension, the admin will enable the functionality for the store. Also, the admin needs to enter the Client and Secret ID generated from the Microsoft Azure end.

After that, enter the Power BI username and password (Outlook email ID and password that was used to log into Power BI). Apart from that, enter the Tenant ID generated from the Microsoft Azure dashboard. 

Lastly, test the connection and then save the configuration settings.  

Create Workspace 

Here, the admin will find all of the created workspaces if any. Apart from that, the admin can edit and delete the created workspaces. To add a new workspace, enter the workspace name and save it. After saving the workspace, a workspace ID will be assigned to the workspace. The admin can also manage the workspaces. 

Create Dataset

Here, the admin can create the datasets for use at the Power BI end. To add a data set, the admin needs to enter the dataset name, select the respective created workspace from the available list, choose the type as temporary, and then save the dataset as required. 

The status will be To publish when you create the same for the first time. To publish it, you need to create a table for the same and then you can come back to this section and publish it thereafter.

To publish the dataset, you can open it and tap on the Publish button. The admin can also manage the datasets.

Create Tables For Datasets

Here, the admin can create the tables for the created datasets as required. To add a new table, you have to provide the table name, select the report type as - orders or invoices, and choose the dataset for the table from the available ones. Lastly, save the table as required. The admin can manage the table as required. 

Publish Datasets

After the table has been created and assigned to a dataset, the admin can navigate to the dataset section and publish the dataset to sync the respective table data with the Power BI dashboard. 

Export Table Data To Power BI

To export the table data to Power BI, go to the Tables section, edit a table, and tap the export button to export the table data to Power BI.

 

Create Reports & Dashboard For Workspaces At Power BI

Now, the admin can create the reports and workspace dashboard at the Power BI console. You need to select your workspace for the orders or invoice report data. After that, select the tables to generate the report visualization as required and save it. 

In a similar way, create a dashboard for your selected workspace and save it. 

Import Reports & Dashboards To Magento 2 Store

After creating the reports and dashboards for your workspaces, you can import the reports and dashboards into the Magento 2 store.

View Reports In Magento 2 Store 

The admin can view the reports in a visualized way using Power BI.

View Dashboards For Workspaces In Magento 2 Store 

The admin can view the dashboards for the various orders and invoice report data in the Magento 2 store.
