Learning Management System extension allows the admin to create a course product and sell online courses on the store. The admin can create multiple sections, upload videos, documents, various files, add a description, mention course duration, display preview course content, and the number of enrolled students. The admin can allow the aspirants to share online courses over social platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and emails. The customers or the aspirants will find the online courses on the storefront and can purchase them using store payment methods. For any queries and discussion, the Q&A section is available on the product page. The customers can view all the online courses purchased in my account section and start the learning program within the store. LMS or Learning Management System has made the educational practices compact in a way that these online courses can be accessed by several users present in different geographical locations, plus it has served quite helpful in reducing the cost of training as well.

The advancement in digital commerce has shown its effects in every element, one of them being, the educational practices. The way prevalent education methods have completely gone online shows the dominance of digitization in today’s world.  The system which drives the online courses is known as Learning Management System which creates a common platform for the trainers and the knowledge seekers.  Moreover, LMS or Learning Management System has come into existence as aspirants prefer online courses due to lack of time. For instance, there are many people who are working and at the same time, preparing for an examination, let’s say civil services examination.  For such people, Learning Management Systems are extremely exigent owing to less time and as they can take the classes after their shift hours.  Hence as the courses are available in any geographical area and are cost-effective, one can surf from any corner of the globe.

How Does The Extension Works?

Basic Settings

Initially, the admin needs to configure the display settings and the social share for the course. Under display settings, the admin has to configure the fields such as show no. of enrolled students, show the course section, show a short description of the course, total course duration.  The social share option allows the admin to share the course over multiple social sites such as Twitter, Facebook, and over mails.  

 

Create Course Product

Once the admin sets the basic configurations, the admin can create a new course product under the Course product type. It is created in the same way as a simple product is created.  Moving on, once the course product is created, two options, i.e. course content and product reviews become visible, along with the course details option which allows the admin to choose the skill level and desired language of the course.

 

Display Course Section

On tapping the course content option a tab, namely, add course content becomes visible clicking which the admin can add the desired number of the course contents by filling in the details for the section title and the sort order.  

 

Add Course Content

For the course content/ section, the admin has to add new content, for which the fields such as content title, section title, type, preview, and description are to be configured.The type field defines so as to which type of content is to be initialized to the course content, i.e. if the admin wishes to add a video for a course content, then type must be chosen as ‘content,’ and if the course content is a doc file then ‘assignment’ is to be chosen against the type field. The type assignment allows pdfs, zip files and text file upload.  

 

Sell Online Courses

As the customers, basically the aspirants get to the store, they will find the courses as just another product, maybe in a specific category defined for these products.  The aspirants can go forth and purchase the products in the usual way. Once purchased, the product shall be visible under my course, in the aspirant’s/ customer’s my account page.  The aspirants can depict their course completion through a progress bar. As the aspirant taps on the purchased course, it redirects to the respective course page, where the social share options, course content, description are present.Even the questions and answers section is present on the same page, under which the course-related query can be asked. The admin can revert to the queries raised by the aspirant.  

 

Social Share Option

This extension facilitates a social share option which allows the aspirants to share and recommend the courses to others.  The aspirants can share the course on Twitter, Facebook and can even send the course personally, over mail.  

 

Product Reviews

Product Reviews play an important role in improving and enhancing the quality of the product. If any aspirant finds any product knowledgeable and useful, they can drop their reviews in the form of stars and add their valuable comments.
