Google Address Autocomplete

The Google Places API is a service that accepts HTTP requests for location data through a variety of methods. It returns formatted location data and imagery about establishments, geographic locations, or prominent points of interest.

This module offers the admin of the Magento 2 store to integrate the Google Auto Address suggestion for the customers of your website. It is a useful feature that allows users to enter their addresses using the Google Auto address suggestion, thus making it easier and quicker to complete online transactions. 

Users insert information on their addresses partially in one field, and Google Places API suggests they choose an address from the list of real addresses. As soon as the address is chosen, all the fields (country, state, city, and zip) are filled automatically.

The extension provides automatic address suggestions and hence manual address entry is eliminated. This prevents typing errors for the address by the customers and speeds up the checkout process.

How does this extension Work?

Store Admin Workflow

Install and Enter Google Maps API Credentials

After the successful installation of the extension, the admin will enable the functionality for the store. Also, the admin needs to enter the Google API Key that is used to display the suggested addresses to the customers/users of your website. The Google API key is generated at the Google Maps console end. That’s all for the configuration part.

Add Address Using Google Auto Address Suggestion

The admin will also be able to use the feature of Google Address Auto Complete. The admin can manage the address of the customers as well as enter the address while placing the orders using this feature in the admin backend.

Google Auto Address Suggestion at Checkout

The customers/users can add their addresses quickly via the auto address suggestion feature at the checkout page. They just need to enter their street address and Google Auto Address suggestions are displayed to them to choose the appropriate address. After selecting the respective address they can proceed further to place the order. 

Google Auto Address Suggestion in Address Book

The customers of your store can now add their addresses in their address book using the auto address suggestion feature. This will save their time and can add multiple addresses as required using the same. They just need to enter their street address and Google Auto Address suggestions are displayed to them to choose the appropriate address. Thereafter, they can save their new address as required.
