Account and Pricing
To generate the Google Maps Platform API Key for module configuration, follow the steps below or click here.
- To create an API key, Go to the Google Maps Platform > Credentials page. Go to the Credentials page
- Go to the Credentials page and click Create credentials, then select API key.
- A dialog box will appear showing the newly created API key.
- Click Close.
- The new API key appears under API keys on the Credentials page. Make sure to restrict the key before using it in production.
How does the GeoZone Shipping extension for Adobe Commerce work?
Admin End
To configure geolocation-based shipping, go to Stores > Configuration > GeoZone Shipping, update the geolocation settings, and click Save.
The admin can configure the following settings:
- Google Maps API Key – Enter the API key obtained from your Google Maps Platform account.
- Shipping Rule Application – Choose whether to apply the minimum or maximum value from the shipping rules.
- Default Map Latitude – Set the initial latitude coordinate for the map display.
- Default Map Longitude – Specify the initial longitude coordinate for the map display.
- Zone Border Color – Select the color for the outline of the map zones created.
- Zone Fill Color – Choose the background color to fill the zones on the map.
Managing GeoZones
Once the Magento 2 GeoZone Shipping module is configured, the next step is to set up and manage GeoZones.
The admin can navigate to the Manage GeoZones section from the left-hand menu. This allows them to create and view zones based on specific geographical locations.
Creating a New Zone
Admins can define zones on the Create Zone page using an interactive map interface.
Managing GeoZone Shipping Rules
After setting up GeoZones, the admin needs to configure shipping rules for each zone.
In the Manage GeoZone Shipping Rules section, admins can create, view, and modify shipping rules as required.
Bulk Upload GeoZone Shipping Rules Using CSV
Admins can upload a CSV file to efficiently manage multiple shipping rules in bulk.
This option, found in the Manage GeoZone Shipping Rules section, simplifies bulk rule management for better efficiency.
Customer Workflow
Adding a New Shipping Address
Customers can add a new shipping address, and GeoZone will automatically fetch their location-based address.
This allows for precise and quick address entry, removing the need for manual typing.
Choosing the GeoZone Shipping Method
After adding a shipping address, customers can select the GeoZone Shipping method at checkout, provided their location falls within a predefined GeoZone.
