Note - This extension is a Marketplace Add-On, so you must purchase and install Webkul’s Multi Vendor Marketplace extension first.

Pre-Order Marketplace Add-On enables the merchants to sell pre-order items on the online store. Customers can make advance payment and place the order for soon to be launched, upcoming items on the store. Whenever the product is in stock, an email notification will be sent (manually or automatically) to the customers. The admin and the sellers can set up a full or partial payment system for the pre-orders, the remaining payment can be made once the item is in stock. Pre-order status can be enabled for many product types (simple, virtual, downloadable, and configurable), display arrival date, and set pre order quantity.

Business Value

In the default Magento platform, there is no option to pre-order products on the web-store. There are can be many reasons for not having the inventory ready to be shipped. But with Pre-Order Marketplace Add-On, the admin and the marketplace sellers will be able to sell soon-to-be-available items on the marketplace store. Moreover, the merchants can receive advance payments from the customers and notify them whenever the product is in stock and available for shipment. Pre-order is a very important part of marketing and promotion, as it creates a buzz in the market and attracts consumers attention. How Does The Extension Works?

Pre Order Full Or Partial Payment

The admin and seller can select the Pre Order Type as Percent payment or Complete Payment. In case the payment type is set as per cent payment then the customer will pay the set percentage first while pre-ordering the product and then when the product will be in-stock will pay the remaining amount to complete their purchase.

In the case of the complete payment system, when the customer pays the complete payment he will get his PreOrder product only when the item is in stock. After that, it would be shipped by the admin or seller.

Pre Order Product Selection

The admin and seller can set PreOrder for – Per product, All Products, Few Products, All Products Except Some. If the admin has selected- “Per product” then the admin will have to enable preorder on every product by selecting the preorder status of each product.

If selected- “Few Products or All Products Except Some” then the admin will have to enable the PreOrder for selected products by typing in the Product SKU separated by a comma. Lastly, if the admin selects “All Products” then the PreOrder will apply for all the products of the admin.

Display Custom Message On Preorder Product Page

The admin and sellers can display a custom text message on all the preorder product pages at the storefront.

Product In-Stock Email Notification

The admin and seller can choose the preferred mode of email as Automatic or Manual when the product is in stock. If you choose the ‘manual’ option, you will have to manually send mail to the customer from the admin panel.

Restrict PreOrder Quantity

The admin and sellers can set a limit on the number of preorder items that can be ordered by the customers.

Prioritize Pre Order Buyers

Here the admin and seller can select buyer specification for the PreOrder products. If the selected “All“, then both the PreOrder buyers and the non-PreOrder buyers can purchase the PreOrder product and complete the purchase. Else if selected the “PreOrder buyers” then only the PreOrder buyers can buy the product and complete the purchase.

Cron Settings (Schedule)

The admin can set the frequency as daily, weekly, monthly and define the time for cron schedule. Cron settings will change the “Stock Status” as “In Stock” if the availability date comes through which the preorder buyer will be notified automatically.

Pre Order Availability

The preorder product will be depending upon the preorder status selection and setting of the preorder availability date for the products. In the case of Preorder, Product Inventory should always be set to “Out of Stock” to make a product Preorder product.

Completing PreOrder With Partial Payment:

After completing the preorder with partial payment the customers will be able to see their Pre-Ordered products under “My Orders>View Order”. Customers will be able to complete their order if the product is in stock. The “Complete Preorder” button will be visible to the customer on the view order page.

Receive Pre Order Advance Payment

If the seller or the admin has set Complete Payment for their PreOrder Product, then the buyer will have to pay for the complete payment of the product, after that whenever the product is made available (In Stock), then the buyer will get an email notification that the product is in stock and then admin or the seller will ship the product to the customer.

Send Product Arrived Notification Manually/Automatically

The admin and seller will notify the customer when the PreOrder product is in stock by navigating to the View Pre Orders list, then select the orders to whom to notify about the Preorder availability.
