Integration
AI Alt Text Generator AutoAlt connects your Magento 2 store with the AutoAlt.ai service through an API key.
After connecting your account, the extension can send product image and relevant product information to AutoAlt.ai for AI-powered alt text generation. The generated alt text is returned to Magento and can be reviewed and edited from the Magento Admin.
The integration is designed to keep the workflow inside Magento Admin, so store administrators do not need to manually copy and paste generated alt text between different systems.

Magento Integration Details
- ALT Text Write-Back
The generated alt text is written back to the Magento product image/media gallery using the image Label field.
Magento uses the image Label as the alt text for the corresponding product image on the storefront. This allows the generated text to remain associated with the relevant Magento product image.
- Store Views and Multiple Languages
Magento supports multiple Store Views, which can be used for different storefronts and languages.
AutoAlt.ai can generate alt text according to the configured Store View and language. This allows merchants operating multilingual Magento stores to generate alt text appropriate for the selected storefront language.
- Product Context
ALT text generation is not based only on the visual content of the image.
