Back to topThe Webandcrafts Catalog Translator is a powerful Magento 2 extension designed to streamline the localization of your eCommerce store. By leveraging Google’s Translation API, this module enables store administrators to translate product and category text attributes accurately and efficiently into any configured store-view locale.
Built for merchants targeting a global audience, the Catalog Translator eliminates the complexity of manual translations while preserving full editorial control. Product descriptions, category titles, and other critical content can be translated at scale, reviewed, edited, and selectively applied—ensuring translations remain contextually relevant and aligned with brand tone.
Imagine managing a store that serves multiple regions, each with distinct language preferences. With Catalog Translator, you can translate single items or hundreds of products at once directly from the product grid, dramatically reducing operational effort. The module automatically detects the source language, applies translations per store locale, and presents them in a dedicated full-page review interface where administrators can validate, edit, or discard translations before publishing.
To support large catalogs, the extension uses progressive AJAX loading, preventing browser timeouts and ensuring a smooth experience even when translating large product selections. A granular caching mechanism minimizes repeated API calls by reusing translations when content has not changed, helping reduce translation costs. Additionally, a re-translation warning system prevents accidental duplicate translations by alerting administrators when content was recently translated.
With its intuitive UI, attribute-level control, and performance-focused architecture, Catalog Translator empowers merchants to scale internationally with confidence—without compromising quality or efficiency.
