Back to topOverview
Back to topIdealData is an eCommerce intelligence service operated by TechNWeb, Inc., built by a team with more than two decades of hands-on eCommerce experience across Adobe Commerce, Magento Open Source, and Mage OS. The service monitors connected stores around the clock and delivers prioritized, context-rich alerts to merchants the moment a revenue-impacting event requires a human decision. IdealData currently delivers six live signals covering customer timing, repeat purchasing, inventory risk, cart recovery, and pricing accuracy, with more than fifty additional signals in active development.
This extension connects your Adobe Commerce, Magento Open Source, or Mage OS store to the IdealData service so your team is told what needs attention instead of having to go looking for it. IdealData watches your store continuously and, when something happens that is worth a human response, sends an alert to Slack, Microsoft Teams, or the IdealData application. Each alert arrives with the customer name, the order history, the dollar value, and the context needed to act without opening another system.
A wholesale account that has reordered every thirty days for two years goes forty-one days without an order. A customer who bought twice last quarter has returned to the site four times this week without buying. A best-selling product is days away from running out. A configurable product goes live at a price nobody intended. Each of these is visible somewhere in your data, and each tends to be discovered during a weekly or monthly review, well after the window to act has closed.
Your storefront keeps working exactly as it does today. The extension is deliberately lightweight and carries a very small footprint on your store, with no meaningful effect on page load or checkout performance. It reads your store data and does not modify orders, customers, products, prices, or inventory. Nothing about how your site appears or functions changes for your shoppers. What changes is what your team knows, and when they know it.
Features
- Live Shopping Assistance signal. Tells your sales team which named customer is worth a call today, with contact details and full purchase context attached.
- Re-engagement window signal. Tells you when a repeat customer has skipped an order they should have placed, while the account is still winnable.
- Low Stock Warning signal. Warns your warehousing and purchasing teams days before a stockout forms, with enough lead time for a purchase order to still solve it.
- High-Value Cart Abandonment signal. Alerts you within the hour when an unusually large cart goes quiet.
- VIP Customer Cart Abandonment signal. Alerts you when one of your best customers abandons a cart at any size.
- Product Pricing Issues signal. Catches a wrong price while it is still fixable, before your customers find it.
- Alert delivery to Slack, Microsoft Teams, and in-app, so signals reach people where they already work.
- Routing by signal type, so inventory alerts reach warehousing and purchasing while customer alerts reach sales, without either team wading through the other's notifications.
- Per-signal activation and thresholds. Every signal can be turned on or off individually and tuned to your own tolerance for noise.
- Priority ranking by business impact, so the largest items surface first rather than arriving in the order they occurred.
- Multi-store and multi-website support. Signals operate across store views and storefronts, and alerts identify which store is involved.
- Multi-source inventory support. Inventory signals respect multiple sources and stock locations and identify where a shortfall is developing.
- AI assistant connectors for ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok, letting you ask questions about your store in plain language. Currently available to a limited group of merchants and rolling out to all IdealData accounts.
- Additional connected sources, including Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, HubSpot, CallRail, and Skubana by Extensiv, with new systems added regularly.
- Read-only access with no payment data. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, connection authorization is restricted to owner and administrator roles, and the service supports the General Data Protection Regulation, known as GDPR, including data removal requests.
- Continuous signal expansion. New signals become available to existing accounts without a platform fee increase or an upgrade.
Account and Pricing
An additional IdealData account is required, and additional fees apply. The account is not created during extension installation. To create an account, please visit the IdealData signup page. The extension is free. The IdealData service is not free: after a 15-day free trial that requires no credit card, the service requires a paid plan starting at $29 per month plus per-signal usage fees. For full pricing details, please visit the IdealData pricing page.
Every plan includes every live signal. There is no feature gating by tier, and no signal is withheld for a higher plan. Pricing scales on volume, so larger businesses pay a higher platform fee and a lower per-signal rate.
- Startup: $29 per month, for merchants under approximately $1 million in revenue. One sales channel, 30 days of history.
- Business: $197 per month, for merchants between approximately $1 million and $10 million. Up to three sales channels, 90 days of history, full history available as an add-on.
- Corporation: $597 per month, for merchants above $10 million. Up to ten sales channels, 365 days of history, full history available as an add-on.
- Enterprise: custom pricing for very high volume. Unlimited sales channels and full history.
On top of the platform fee, signals bill per delivered alert in four categories reflecting the value of the alert. Recovery signals, which protect a specific identifiable order, carry the highest rate. Risk signals cost less. Opportunity and Insight signals cost the least, which is what makes it economical to run a signal such as Right Time to Contact across an entire customer base. Because signals bill on delivery, spend follows activity, and a quiet month costs less than a busy one.
Demo, examples, and walkthrough

Live Shopping Assist
Sales teams and owner-operators spend a great deal of energy on a question with no good answer inside a customer relationship management system: out of thousands of customers, who is worth a call this morning?
Most teams answer it with a proxy. They call the biggest accounts, or the ones they have not spoken to recently. Those are reasonable habits, and they routinely miss the customer who is showing every sign of being ready to buy right now.
Live Shopping Assist identifies that customer by name and tells you today. The alert carries their contact information, what they have bought before, how much they typically spend, and how long it has been since their last order. Your team does not have to research the account before picking up the phone.
What this means for you
Outreach stops being a list exercise and becomes a timing exercise. The same team, making the same number of calls per day, spends those calls on customers demonstrably in a buying window rather than on whoever was next in the queue. For businesses where a single conversation can be worth thousands of dollars, changing which conversations happen is worth far more than changing how many happen.
Who benefits most
Wholesale and distribution merchants, business-to-business sellers with named accounts, and any company with a sales team, an inside sales function, or an owner who still personally calls key customers. This signal bills at the Insight rate, the lowest of the four usage tiers, which makes it economical to run across an entire customer base rather than a selected segment.
Missed Reorder
In a business built on repeat purchasing, revenue rarely disappears in a single dramatic event. It erodes. An account that reordered every thirty days for two years goes forty days, then fifty, then never comes back. Nobody canceled anything. Nobody complained. The account simply stopped, and the loss shows up months later in a churn number far too late to act on.
The reason this is so hard to catch is structural. A missed reorder is an absence. It generates no order, no ticket, and no record of any kind. There is nothing to query, because nothing happened. Standard reporting counts what occurred and has no mechanism for flagging what failed to occur.
IdealData knows when each of your repeat customers should be placing their next order, and tells you when one of them does not. The alert includes the customer name and contact details, their purchase history, what they usually order and in what quantity, how far past due they now are, and the typical value of the order that has not been placed. Your team can see immediately whether this is a customer who slipped, a customer who may have moved to another supplier, or a customer whose business has simply changed.
What this means for you
A reorder that is fifteen days late is usually recoverable with a well-timed conversation. The same reorder ninety days late is usually a lost account that has already been replaced. Compressing that detection window from a quarterly review to a matter of days is the difference between a phone call and a post-mortem.
Who benefits most
Wholesale suppliers, distributors, and consumables sellers. Any merchant where the same customers buy the same items on a predictable rhythm, and where losing one account quietly is materially worse than losing a hundred one-time buyers. This signal bills at the Recovery rate.
Low Stock Warning
Every merchant has a low stock report somewhere. Very few are useful, because a fixed threshold treats a product selling two units a week and one selling forty units a day as though they carry the same risk. Set it high and your team drowns in noise. Set it low and you find out when the product page says the item is unavailable.
IdealData tells your warehousing, fulfillment, and purchasing teams which products are heading for a stockout and roughly when, far enough ahead that a purchase order still solves the problem. The alert names the product, where it stands today, when it is expected to run out, and the location where the shortfall is developing. For merchants running multiple warehouses, that last detail matters, because a product that looks healthy in aggregate can be depleted at the location serving your largest region.
What this means for you
A stockout costs more than the orders it blocks. It pushes loyal customers to try an alternative supplier, wastes the advertising spend pointing at that product, and on a wholesale account raises a question about reliability that outlasts the shortage. Catching it early turns an emergency into a routine purchasing decision.
Who benefits most
Warehousing and fulfillment teams, purchasing and inventory managers, multi-warehouse and multi-source operations, and any store where a small number of products carry a large share of revenue. This signal bills at the Risk rate.
High-Value Cart Abandonment
Abandoned cart automation is standard equipment, and it is calibrated for the average order. That calibration is exactly wrong for the orders that matter most. A cart worth several times your typical order value represents a considered purchase, often by a buyer comparing suppliers.
IdealData alerts your team within the hour when an unusually large cart is abandoned. The alert carries the customer name where available, the cart contents, the cart value expressed against what is normal for your store, and how long the cart has been inactive.
What this means for you
Large carts get a human response instead of a templated one. A single recovered order at multiples of your average order value can cover the service cost for the month, and direct outreach on a large considered purchase converts on a completely different curve than a scheduled email sequence. This signal bills at the Recovery rate.
VIP Customer Cart Abandonment
Cart value is only one measure of importance. A $400 cart from a customer with forty-five thousand dollars in lifetime value carries different weight than a $400 cart from a first-time visitor.
IdealData alerts you when one of your best customers abandons a cart at any size. The alert includes their lifetime value, their order history, and the date of their most recent purchase, so your team can judge whether this looks like a routine pause or the first sign of an account problem.
What this means for you
When a reliable buyer stops short of checkout, a personal follow-up frequently surfaces a fixable issue, such as a pricing question, a stock concern, or a change in who handles purchasing on their side. This signal bills at the Recovery rate.
Product Pricing Issues
Pricing errors on Adobe Commerce are rarely the result of carelessness. They come from the ordinary complexity of running a real catalog: a supplier feed with a bad value, a special price that outlives its schedule, a currency mismatch on an import, a customer group price applied more broadly than intended, a tier price on the wrong quantity break.
IdealData catches prices that should not be live and tells you while you can still do something about it. The alert names the product, the price now showing, the price that was expected, and the order activity that has already occurred at the incorrect price.
What this means for you
The window between a bad price going live and a bad price being expensive is short. Closing that window from days to minutes changes the outcome from a loss you absorb into an incident you corrected. This signal bills at the Risk rate.
Built by eCommerce operators, not generalists
The hard part of a signal is not noticing that a number moved. It is knowing which movements matter, for which kind of business, and when they are worth interrupting a busy executive. That judgment separates an alert worth reading from a notification people learn to ignore.
IdealData is built by a team that has spent more than two decades inside eCommerce operations, working with wholesale distributors, business-to-business sellers, and high-volume merchants on Adobe Commerce, Magento Open Source, and Mage OS. Every signal carries that accumulated judgment: what a meaningful cart looks like for your catalog, when a quiet account has crossed into concerning, how much warning a purchasing team needs to be useful.
How the service works
Connect
The extension establishes a read-only connection between your store and your IdealData account. Configuration happens in the IdealData interface and requires no technical skill.
Learn
IdealData reviews your order and customer history so that signals reflect how your specific business behaves rather than a generic benchmark. History depth depends on your plan, ranging from the last 30 days on the entry plan up to full history on Enterprise.
Monitor
Monitoring runs continuously. There is no report to schedule and no dashboard to check. Most merchants are receiving signals within 24 hours.
Alert
When something needs a human decision, the alert is delivered where your team already works, prioritized by business impact and packaged with the context needed to act.
Act
Your team makes the call, adjusts the price, issues the purchase order, or sends the message. The loop closes with a person doing something useful, which is the only part of this that ever actually protects revenue.
Where your alerts arrive
- Slack: route signals to a shared channel or to specific individuals, so the right person sees the right alert without a forwarding chain.
- Microsoft Teams: the same routing for organizations standardized on Microsoft.
- In-app: a prioritized view of everything currently active, with full history and context.
Connect the rest of your stack
Your store holds the transaction record. It does not hold everything that indicates a customer is about to buy or about to leave. IdealData reads from the systems around your store as well, so signals reflect the full picture rather than one source. Each additional source is optional, and your store alone is enough to run every live signal.
- Google Analytics 4: on-site behavior, traffic patterns, and engagement trends.
- Google Search Console: organic search visibility and demand shifts.
- Bing Webmaster Tools: search performance beyond a single engine.
- HubSpot: the customer relationship layer, including conversations, deal context, and ownership.
- CallRail: phone conversations, which for many wholesale and business-to-business merchants carry more purchase intent than any web session.
- Skubana by Extensiv: inventory and order operations across warehouses and channels.
New systems are added to IdealData regularly, often weekly, and become available to existing accounts as they ship. If a system your business depends on is not listed yet, it is worth asking, because it may already be in progress.
Ask your store a question
IdealData also offers connectors for ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok, so you can ask about your customers, orders, and inventory in plain language and get an answer drawn directly from your own store data. These connectors are currently available to a limited group of merchants and are rolling out to all IdealData accounts.
Built for how merchants on Adobe Commerce actually operate
Multi-store and multi-website
Signals work across store views, websites, and multiple storefronts, with the context to tell you which one needs attention. A merchant running several brands or regional sites receives alerts identifying the specific store rather than a blended number that hides the problem.
Multi-source inventory
Inventory signals respect multiple sources and stock locations. A product with healthy total inventory can still be effectively out of stock at the source serving your highest-volume region, and that distinction is preserved in the alert.
Business-to-business and wholesale
Customer group pricing, tiered pricing, quote workflows, and named account relationships are the norm in wholesale rather than the exception. Missed Reorder and Right Time to Contact were built around the way business-to-business buying actually behaves, on account rhythm and relationship rather than impulse.
Who gets the most from IdealData
Warehousing, fulfillment, and purchasing teams
Low Stock Warning is written for the people who place the purchase orders and manage the shelves. Advance notice of a developing shortfall, identified down to the location where it is forming, is the difference between a scheduled replenishment and an expedited freight bill.
Companies with a sales team
If people on your team make outbound calls, Right Time to Contact and Missed Reorder function as a live, prioritized work queue built from actual buying behavior rather than a static list. Sales leadership gets a defensible answer to what the team should work on today.
Wholesale and distribution
Repeat purchasing on predictable rhythms, named accounts, and large individual order values. This is where Missed Reorder and Right Time to Contact deliver the clearest return, because a single recovered account is worth many times the monthly service cost.
Owner-operated stores
Founders and small leadership teams who cannot personally watch everything and cannot afford to miss what matters. Alerts arrive on the phone, so the store stays monitored on evenings and weekends without anybody sitting at a screen.
Security, permissions, and data handling
- Read-only access. IdealData connects with read-only permissions and does not modify orders, customers, products, prices, or inventory.
- No payment data. Payment card information is never accessed, requested, or stored.
- Encryption. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
- Scoped authorization. Account-level connection and authorization are restricted to owner and administrator roles.
- Light footprint. The extension is built to sit lightly on your store, with no meaningful effect on page speed or the shopping experience.
- Privacy regulation support. IdealData supports the General Data Protection Regulation, known as GDPR, which governs how personal data is collected, processed, and stored. Data removal and related privacy requests are supported, and the relevant controls can be enabled and configured for your account.
- Optional data collection. Any data collection beyond your core store records is optional, off unless you choose to turn it on, and entirely under your control.
- Reversible. Disconnect at any time from your IdealData account, and data access stops immediately.
Full details are available in the IdealData privacy policy.
Frequently asked questions
How much technical work is involved?
A developer is needed one time only, to add the extension to your store and deploy it, which typically takes under an hour. Everything after that happens in the IdealData interface and is handled by a non-technical person. There is no theme modification, no template work, and no custom code.
Will it slow down my store?
No. The extension is built to sit lightly on your store, and merchants do not see a meaningful change in page load or checkout performance.
How is this different from analytics?
Analytics reports on what already happened and waits for you to come look. IdealData watches continuously and tells you when something needs a decision, with the context attached. The two work together, and Google Analytics 4 is one of the sources IdealData can read from.
How is this different from a customer relationship management system?
A customer relationship management system records the conversation layer: calls, emails, deals, and notes. It rarely holds the commerce layer, and does not tell you when an account has quietly gone off pattern. IdealData watches the commerce side and pushes an alert when a specific account needs attention.
What if I get too many alerts?
Every signal can be turned on or off individually, thresholds are adjustable, and routing is configurable by signal type. Alerts are prioritized by business impact, so the largest items surface first.
Could my team build this internally?
Detecting a threshold is straightforward. Knowing which thresholds matter for your business, and keeping that judgment current as your catalog and customer base change, is the part that takes years. IdealData ships that expertise as a service so your development team can spend its time on your storefront and your customers.
Do alerts come by email?
Alerts are delivered through Slack, Microsoft Teams, and in-app, built around the channels teams actually monitor during a working day.

Description:
IdealData.io for Adobe Commerce - version 1.17.0
First release on the Adobe Commerce Marketplace. The extension has been distributed
through Composer prior to this listing, so version numbering continues from that
history rather than restarting at 1.0.0.
WHAT THIS EXTENSION DOES
IdealData.io connects your Adobe Commerce store to the IdealData platform, which
monitors the store continuously and tells your team what needs attention while it can
still be acted on. Examples include abandoned high-value carts, low stock with a
reorder deadline, pricing problems, customers who are overdue to reorder, and shoppers
who are active on the site right now.
The extension performs two functions on the store:
- It exposes store data to IdealData through authenticated REST endpoints that
IdealData calls: order status, failed payment transactions, and the storefront
pixel configuration contract.
- It hosts the storefront pixel, which reports when a signed-in customer is active and
what they add to or remove from their cart.
Support
