Back to topWeChat is a Chinese social media (instant messaging, commerce, and payment services) mobile application software developed by Tencent. It was first released in 2011, and by 2017, it was one of the largest standalone messaging apps by monthly active users, with over 963 million monthly active users. It is widely known as one of the world's most innovative and versatile app, as well as China's "App For Everything", with numerous unique functions and platforms ranging from 'payment' to 'social media' to 'services' to 'shopping' and more, that are equivalent to multiple Google Play or Apple Store's apps, but merged into one.
This extension allows your customers to quickly login or register on your Magento store using their WeChat account. After installing this extension, WeChat login icon will display on the account login page, right below the normal login button.
In PC, after customers click the icon, it will display a QR code for customers to scan using WeChat app on their smart phone. After that, customers will auto login and system will create a Magento store account for their WeChat account.
In WeChat browser, it will display an option to choose whether to bind WeChat account with existing Magento account or not. If choose Yes, customers will be asked to enter their existing Magento account and password to bind with their WeChat account. Next time when customers click your Magento store login page in WeChat browser, they can select "Not bind to Magento account" and auto login to their previously binded Magento account with no need to enter Magento account and password again.
WeChat is the app for everything for local Chinese. By offering WeChat login, it will attract more Chinese customers to register and login to your store, making your site more user-friendly, and increase the sale conversion rate of your store.
