What is an Actionable Abandoned Cart?
When a customer begins the checkout process and enters their email address, that is saved by Magento and we are now able to communicate directly with that customer about their cart. This is an actionable cart. One that we can now take action on if the customer is unable to finish the checkout process. Many times customers get distracted and forget to complete the checkout, a quick notification email within 30 minutes is a great way to remind them to come back and finish.
How much revenue can I recapture from my store?
Generally, we see an average boost of 10% most times if your store has the right volume. This will depend on several factors:
- How complicated is your checkout process? Are people starting the checkout but then getting frustrated and giving up? You can figure this out by seeing how high your abandon rate is using our Free Analytics.
- How quickly are you sending a follow up email? We have found it works best to send a short and sweet message within 30 minutes of the cart being abandoned. We also recommend sending another email within a day or two to ask the customer if they have any specific questions or issues with your website or checkout process.
- Are you collecting emails from them somehow? Add to Cart email requests, email list popups, etc can facilitate that, but unless you have an email, you can't recover money from them!
