Overview
Back to topCustom Order Number by Ravi Technology provides the facility to set prefix, suffix, start a counter, counter increment, and number length for all types of store documents such as invoices, orders, shipments and credit memos. The extension also provides flexible ID formats with customized sections. It automatically makes sure there are no order ID duplicates and every ID is unique in the system.
This extension is easily configurable. You can enable the extension from the backend and set the order number formats such as letters, prefix, suffix, date/time variables if required. Follow the same steps for Invoice, Shipment and Credit Memo configuration from the backend. The default Magento 2 functionality does not provide a way to modify the order number. The system is complex in the cases of adding or editing an order, invoice, shipment, or credit memo. Store owners may require customizing order numbers for the convenience of managing the orders or to keep sales information safe.
Features
Easily Customize
- The order invoice, shipment and credit memo numbers

- Multi-Store Supported
How It Works
When customers place orders, the customized order number will be displayed on the order success page. Similarly, the custom order number, invoice number, shipment number, and credit memo numbers will be seen in the Orders, Order Invoices, Order Shipments, and Credit memos section respectively.
This extension allows you to set alphanumeric values, special characters and date/time variables for prefixes and suffixes. They are also able to set a start counter, counter increment and number of digits(pattern) for documents such as invoices, orders, shipments, credit memos.
The module provides a feature to add custom prefix IDs for:
- Orders
- Invoices
- Shipments
- Credit Memos
The number of digits (patterns) is the most useful part and is used to increase the order ID. By default, Magento 2 order ID is 9 digits(000000001). If you want to increase the order ID to 20 digits (0000000000000000001), then you can use the pattern to increase the order ID.
Example
This extension allows customizing order, invoice, shipment and credit memo numbers with any letters, prefixes, suffixes, date, time variables or counters according to business requirements.
- If you want to increase the order ID to 6 digits,
then you can select Number Length = 6 - If you want to increase the order ID to 12 digits,
then you can select Number Length = 12 - If you want to increase the order ID to 20 digits,
then you can select Number Length = 20
A store can have these formats:
