Back to topA fake order is an order that is placed with the intention of a prankster to cause a loss of seller in the E-commerce business. Such order management that includes transport of the product and delivery steps is futile. It is the waste of time and money. To prevent such fake orders, validation measures should be taken in the store. Default Magento does not provide any functionality to avoid this type of order. It enables order verification via OTP sent to the shipping address Email Address at the checkout step. The customer is not allowed to place an order without verifying the order by disabling the "Place Order" button.
Cash On Delivery Email Address Verification(COD) offers an option to enable the "Resend OTP" button, enable the order verification only for Cash On Delivery Payment Method, and set a custom message for OTP! Cash on Delivery Email Address Verification(COD) Extension helps the admin to verify their customer shipping address Email Id using OTP (One time Password) to ensure genuine Cash on Delivery orders. When any customer chooses the Cash on Delivery payment method while checkout, the extension will ask a customer to verify their Email Address with secure OTP to complete the order. Using this strategy, the store owners can reduce bogus orders and save up to 40 to 60% operation costs compared to the previous term.
