Log Cleaner Pro — Automated var/log Cleanup for Adobe Commerce (Magento 2)

Automatically clean up bloated var/log files on a schedule, with configurable retention, safe truncate/delete modes, and an admin email report after every run.

Magento's var/log directory grows without bound by default — debug.log, system.log, exception.log, and report dumps accumulate indefinitely, quietly eating disk space until someone notices the server is out of room. Log Cleaner Pro fixes this with a fully automated, admin-configurable cleanup job, so you never have to SSH in and manually delete logs again.

Features:

• Scheduled cleanup — runs automatically on cron (weekly by default), with the schedule fully editable from the admin as a standard cron expression — no code deploy required to change it.
• Configurable retention — only cleans files older than a retention period you set; recent logs stay untouched.
• Safe truncate or full delete — choose to empty file contents in place (safe for logs Magento currently has open for writing) or remove files entirely.
• Flexible targeting — match files by glob pattern (e.g. *.log), optionally include sub directories like var/log/report, and exclude specific filenames from cleanup.
• Dry Run mode — preview exactly what would be cleaned and how much space would be freed before enabling real deletions.
• Email notifications — sends a clean, branded HTML summary to your chosen recipient after every run: files scanned, files cleaned, disk space freed, duration, and any errors — so you have a standing audit trail without checking the server.
• CLI support — trigger a cleanup on demand with bin/magento logcleaner:run, including a --dry-run flag for safe testing and a --notify flag to force a report email.
• Dedicated logging — every run is logged to its own var/log/logcleaner.log file (which is automatically excluded from its own cleanup), with full exception detail on any failure.
• Zero front-end footprint — this is a pure backend/admin extension; no storefront performance impact whatsoever.
