Overview
Back to topSometimes, vendor(s) wants to convert the unregistered accounts to customers who have placed some order(s) for their store(s). Nexius provided the solution for it. Using Nexius Guest to Customer extension, the admin will be able to convert the guest to the customer with one click. The customer will need to add the password of his account and he/she will be redirected to his/her account dashboard. This allows administrators to easily convert guests who forgot to sign up while placing the order or want their orders assigned to an account so they can view the history of their orders.
Features
- Admin can enable/disable the feature anytime
- A convert button will appear on the admin Order Grid (after the guest places an order) to convert the guest to a customer
- An email will be sent to the customer's email address (which was used when placing the order) on clicking on the convert button on sales -> order -> view page
- Using configuration, the admin can modify the email text that guest customers will perceive
- Guest Customer needs to add the password (which includes all sorts of password validations of Magento 2) to his/her account and it will be redirected to his/her account dashboard
- Configurations allow the admin to specify whether previously placed orders will be converted by the customer, admin, automatically, or neither
Key Features
1. Convert the Guest:
Vendor(s) can convert the guest by clicking on the convert button. An email will be sent to the customer's email address (which the customer used while placing the order).
2. Guest Email:
Guests will perceive the email by clicking on set a new password.
3. Setting the Password:
On clicking the set a new password button, guests will be redirected to this page where they can add a password to their account. During password setting, customers will experience Magento-level password validation, e.g, weak strong, and very strong (password strength).
4. My Account:
By setting the password, the guest will be converted to the customer and will be redirected to my account (dashboard) page.
5. Order Convert:
Either the customer or admin, or neither, will convert previously placed orders of this newly converted customer
a. When Admin Order Conversion is set to Yes, the admin will see a button of ‘Convert All Guest Orders’ on the customer's edit page.
Path: CUSTOMER -> All Customers -> click on edit to the customer you want. On clicking on the conversion button all the previous orders of this customer will be converted to the General customer group.
b. When Customer Order Conversion is set to Yes, the customer will see a button of ‘Convert All Guest Orders’.
On clicking on the conversion button all the previous orders of this customer will be converted to the General customer group.
c. When Automatic Order Conversion is set to Yes, all customer’s orders will be automatically converted for this customer on account creation.
When the customer will be landing on the My Account section after adding the password, the orders will be automatically converted to his account and he will be seeing the orders in the recent orders.
