 miniOrange Claude MCP Integration for Magento enables store owners, developers, and platform teams to securely connect Claude and Claude-compatible MCP clients with Magento REST and GraphQL APIs.

This extension is designed for businesses that want to use Claude AI agents with Magento while keeping their store APIs protected. Instead of exposing long-lived Magento integration tokens to external AI tools, the extension generates short-lived, signed JWT access tokens that Claude MCP clients can use for secure API communication.

When Claude or any MCP-based client requests access, the extension issues a temporary token based on the configured client credentials. Each token is internally mapped to a Magento Integration and inherits the permissions assigned to that integration. This allows administrators to control exactly what Claude can access, such as product data, inventory, customer information, orders, or any other API resource allowed by Magento’s native authorization system.

Every API request made through Claude is validated in real time. The extension checks whether the JWT token is valid, active, and issued by the MCP authentication layer. If the token is valid, the request is processed as a standard Magento API request with the correct permissions. Expired, invalid, or unauthorized tokens are rejected immediately with a clear JSON error response.

The extension fully supports Claude integrations built around the Model Context Protocol, Anthropic’s open standard for connecting AI agents to external tools, data sources, and APIs.
