The module allows tracking the visits on the maintenance page in Google Analytics. To start using Google Analytics tracking feature, sign up for FREE Google Analytics account to integrate analytics into your website. There are no additional fees at this time.
You need to integrate Google Analytics with Maintenance Page extension and get the tracking ID after integration with your website and add it in the backend configuration section. Once you have integrated Google Analytics into your website the right way, you can get the complete analysis of the visits on the maintenance page in Google Analytics from Behavior > Site Content > All Pages.
How Does The Extension Work?
The admin enables the extension, enters comma-separated IPs to whitelist, enters the URLs to allow their access from the storefront, selects the custom maintenance page to which the visitors are to be redirected and chooses the maintenance page template. The admin can configure the maintenance page layout and preview the maintenance page. To configure various sections on the maintenance page, enable them and make related settings:
- Countdown Timer
- Newsletter subscription
- Social media connection
- Footer section
The admin can configure the background settings for the custom template. He can upload the image, video, etc. and enable to show the background overlay. Set the maintenance page title. Enter the description for the same. Enable Google Analytics to track visits on the maintenance page. Integrate it with the maintenance page by adding the tracking ID.
Note: The module doesn't directly integrate with Google Analytics, but if you have integrated Google Analytics with your website and Google Analytics for the maintenance page is enabled, you can track the visits on the maintenance page from Behavior > Site Content > All Pages in Google Analytics.
Once configured, whenever a user visits the website, the store frontend displays the maintenance page in readymade or the custom template, as per the selection. Users can subscribe to the newsletter, connect through social media and see the timer for the maintenance end, if enabled from the backend. Also, the admin receives the reminder email for the end of maintenance mode before the days specified in the backend.
