Google reCAPTCHA was developed to distinguish humans apart from machines for security purposes. But, algorithms have been developed with advanced AI which can solve the CAPTCHA and access the system which was supposed to be inaccessible from bots.

Google, thus, introduced, Google reCAPTCHA v3, which is more potent than the previous Google Invisible reCAPTCHA. It provides low friction and effortless interaction to the visitors & tests their authenticity based on it. It also lets humans go through, without checking the "I am not Robot" checkbox or solving tough quizzes. This feature provides ease to humans and is tough on the bots.

For example, if the risk score's threshold value is set to 0.5, any visitor having the risk score lower than 0.5 is considered spammy and has to pass the two-factor authentication.

How Does The Extension Work?

The admin has to request for the new site registration from the Google reCAPTCHA admin. The already saved sites can also be seen here. Register your store domain to get the site key and the secret key to use RECAPTCHA v3.

To get started with the Google Invisible reCAPTCHA for your Magento 2 store, the admin needs to enable the extension from the back-end configuration. Enter the site key and the secret key obtained while registration for Google reCAPTCHA. Enter the URLs and add form selectors to enable the Google invisible reCAPTCHA.

Once integrated and configured correctly, the Google Invisible reCAPTCHA badge can be seen on the customer account registration page, product review form and contact page in the frontend. If a bot or suspicious visitor tries to create an account, submit a review or a contact form, an error message is displayed and the activity is restricted. If Google finds normal human behavior for each of the action, it allows the visitors to perform the desired action without any intervention.
