How SMS Gateway Is Used?
Whenever the admin creates and runs an SMS marketing campaign, marketing messages are sent to the customers in bulk. Here's when the SMS gateways come into the picture. The marketing SMSs are sent using the SMS Gateway integrated with the extension.
How Does The Extension Work?
- The admin can send bulk promotional SMS to the customers. However, the admin is required to configure the API settings.
- For that, he has to select the API provider and message type, enter the sender ID, API URL, and the authorization key.
- It is advisable to test the API and hence enter the mobile number with country code and click the "Send" button.
- The admin can upload a CSV file with the customers' mobile numbers to send the marketing SMSs to.
- The "Manage Phonebook" grid enlists the contact name and number. The admin can delete the selected contacts manually or in bulk using the mass action from the grid.
- The "Manage Campaigns" grid lists the already created SMS campaigns. The admin can create a new campaign using the "Add New Campaign" button.
- While creating a new campaign, the admin has to enter its name, and SMS text set the scheduled date and hour, and activate it for the campaign to run successfully.
- The admin can select the contacts to add them to the campaign to send them the promotional SMSs. The extension enables us to send them the configured SMSs.
- Once the campaign is run from the backend, the customers get marketing SMS with the offers and deals added by the admin on their mobile numbers.
- After the SMSs are sent, the backend grid "SMS Logs" saves the SMS logs with the details like API provider, mobile number, SMS text, message SID, and message status.

- The admin can schedule the campaign on a particular date and hour of the day,
- Instead of scheduling, if the admin wants to run the campaign immediately and send the SMSs, the "Manage Campaigns" grid offers the "Run Now" button for the same.
- Select the customers to whom the SMS is to be sent by adding the contacts while creating the campaign.
- SMS Logs grid that displays the details like API provider.
- The admin can delete the log in bulk based on the status of the message sent or failed.
