To eliminate such a task, orders with the specified order statuses need to be auto cancelled. Meetanshi has developed Auto Cancel Order for Magento 2 to automatically cancel orders with the specified order statuses after a specific time period.
The orders of the products that are out of stock, or when the customers choose to abandon the payments are useless for the admin. Such orders have pending or pending payments order status. These orders are automatically cancelled after a set time period with the help of Auto Cancel Order for Magento 2.
The extension is helpful when the store offers online payment facilities via payment gateways. If due to some technical errors, the payments are not captured successfully by the payment gateway, the order status is changed to the pending payment due to the indecisiveness of success or failed payment. Auto Cancel Order for Magento 2 automatically cancel such pending orders and update their statuses to "cancelled".
How Does The Extension Work?
The admin can configure the extension to set the number of days after which the orders with the selected order statuses get auto cancelled. Also, the admin has to select the payment methods of which to auto-cancel the orders, duration and unit after which to cancel the orders. He can set up Email settings such as Email receiver and Email template to get notified after the orders have been cancelled. The admin can also select a template to send an auto-order cancellation email notification to customers.
After the specified number of days, all the orders with the selected order statuses automatically get cancelled and their status gets changed to "Canceled". Immediately after the order auto cancellation, both the admin and customers get notified via Email. Additionally, the product is restocked and the inventory is automatically updated likewise.
