Do you run an online business that is focused on a specific location? You may want to expand the reach of the users but to the particular locality and serve your customers based on their regions. However, the online store has worldwide access. Meetanshi's Restrict Zip Codes for Magento 2 extension allows the admin to restrict the users to place the order based on added zip codes of their locations!

The module allows the admin to restrict the customers from placing an order based on the zip codes. By doing so, the store owners having an online Magento 2 store for a local business or who want to cut down the shipping costs by not fulfilling the orders with far delivery locations can restrict the orders based on zip codes. The Restrict Zip Codes for Magento 2 module also contributes to improving the customer shopping experience by displaying the estimated delivery time for the allowed zip codes! With Restrict Locations for Magento 2, smoothly run an online Magento 2 store, accessible globally, but serves users on a location basis!

How Does The Extension Work?

The admin configures the module to restrict orders based on the zip codes. The admin has to set the custom messages for the users to ask them to enter the zip code. He sets the order availability and unavailability messages to show users after the zip codes check. The admin uploads a CSV with the allowed zip codes and estimated delivery time deletes the existing zip codes if require, and exports them. The admin refers to the sample CSV file for uploading the zip codes CSV file.

On the product page in the frontend, the visitor is asked with a custom message to enter the zip code to check if he/she can place the order. The order availability message along with the estimated delivery days or unavailability message is displayed accordingly. If the user doesn't check the zip code for the order availability from the product page, the unavailable zip code is restricted on the checkout page and the user cannot place an order.

Benefits:

  • Restrict the visitors to place an order on the basis of the zip codes.
  • If the admin has added the estimated delivery time in the zip codes CSV, the option to display it with the delivery availability message can be enabled.
  • Set a custom message to ask for checking the zip code for availability in the storefront.
  • Set the custom messages for the order availability or unavailability to be shown in the frontend.
  • The admin can delete the existing zip codes when uploading a new CSV for zip codes.
  • Upload the CSV file with allowed zip codes and estimated delivery time from the backend.
  • Sample CSV file available in the backend for the admin's reference.
  • Option to display zipcode checker as:
    • Inline form
    • Popup
  • A separate grid named "Manage Allowed Zip Codes" lists all the uploaded zip codes through CSV.
  • Also, the admin can manually add zip codes from the "Manage Allowed Zip Codes" grid.
  • The visitors can enter the zip code for ensuring the order availability for their location.
  • On the click of the "Check" button from the inline form or the popup, the extension checks the zip codes in the CSV and shows the message for availability or not accordingly.
  • When an order is restricted to be placed, the extension shows the delivery unavailability message set by the admin.
  • When the order unavailability message is shown, the order placing is restricted on the checkout.
