Mass Product Actions for Magento 2 by Meetanshi adds more than 20 bulk operations to the product grid, so catalog changes that would take days of clicking are done from one dropdown. Select products in Catalog > Products, pick an action, set the parameters in a modal, and apply.

Magento's native mass actions are thin. You can change status, update attributes, and delete, and that is close to the whole list. Anything else, a 10 percent price rise across a brand, moving 4,000 products to a new category, appending a suffix to product names, copying custom options from a template product, means either a developer script or a merchandiser working through the grid page by page. And when someone does attempt a large edit through the admin, it often ends in a PHP gateway timeout or a database lock partway through, leaving the catalog in a half-updated state nobody can easily audit.

This extension handles both problems. It covers the operations merchandisers actually need: price updates with rounding rules, category assignment, visibility and website assignment, attribute updates, inventory levels, gallery images, custom options, text find-and-replace, related, up-sell and cross-sell linking, and a fast delete path. And it processes large jobs safely, splitting them into configurable chunks, 100 products by default, and running them through Magento's message queue in the background instead of holding a browser request open. You choose the execution mode per your needs: Direct in the browser for small jobs, Cron for scheduled background runs, or Queue for asynchronous processing of the big ones.

Features of Mass Product Actions for Magento 2

  • 20+ bulk actions from the product grid: Update prices, categories, visibility, website assignment, attributes, inventory, gallery images, custom options, and product relationships without leaving the grid.
  • Chunked background processing: Large jobs are split into configurable batches, 100 products by default, and processed through Magento's message queue, which helps avoid PHP timeouts and database locks.
  • Three execution modes: Run an action Direct in the browser, via Cron in the background, or through the Queue asynchronously, depending on job size.
  • Price updates with smart rounding: Apply a percentage or fixed change, then round to .99, .95, .00, or the nearest integer. Rounding can be applied to Price, Special Price, Cost, and MSRP.
  • Bulk category assignment: Add or change category assignments in bulk, choosing a tree view or a multiselect dropdown for selecting categories.
  • Automatic 301 redirects: Create redirects automatically when products are reassigned between categories, so existing URLs keep working.
  • Text find-and-replace: Bulk edit product names, descriptions, and meta fields, including appending a prefix or suffix with a configurable default position.
  • Copy custom options: Duplicate customizable options, inputs, and dropdowns from a template product to a selected set.
  • Product relationship linking: Bulk manage Related, Up-sell, and Cross-sell links, choosing whether to append or replace existing links and whether to link one-way or bidirectionally.
  • Gallery image management: Handle product images in bulk instead of product by product.
  • Fast bulk delete: Remove large numbers of obsolete products using a faster path than the standard EAV pipeline.
  • ACL permission controls: Restrict which admin roles can run bulk edits and which attributes they are allowed to modify, protecting fields such as SKU.
  • Job monitoring and logs: Track active updates and review queue success logs from the admin.
  • CLI processing: Run bulk jobs from the command line for scripted or scheduled operations.
  • Configurable job retention: Set the processing cron schedule, a cleanup schedule, and how many days completed job records are kept.
  • Multi-store support: Control action visibility, sort order, and store-specific configuration.

Use Cases of Mass Product Actions for Magento 2

  • Applying a supplier price increase across a brand or category without editing products one at a time.
  • Running seasonal sales by setting special prices in bulk, then clearing them when the promotion ends.
  • Restructuring the catalog by moving thousands of products into new categories, with 301 redirects created automatically.
  • Cleaning up after a migration or import, where product names, descriptions, or meta fields need a consistent find-and-replace.
  • Adding a prefix or suffix to product names across a range, for example marking a clearance line.
  • Rolling out the same set of custom options, such as engraving or gift wrap, to a whole product group from one template product.
  • Building cross-sell and up-sell relationships across a range in one pass instead of product by product.
  • Removing thousands of discontinued SKUs at the end of a season without the delete timing out.
  • Large catalogs where any admin bulk edit currently risks a gateway timeout.
  • Teams where merchandisers need bulk editing but should not be able to touch SKUs or other protected fields.

Benefits of Mass Product Actions for Magento 2

  • Hours back for your catalog team: Work that took a day of repetitive grid editing runs as a single action.
  • Large jobs that finish: Chunked queue processing helps big edits complete instead of timing out halfway through.
  • The store stays usable during edits: Background processing keeps long jobs off the browser request, so the admin is not tied up.
  • SEO preserved through restructures: Automatic 301 redirects mean category changes do not strand existing URLs.
  • Fewer costly mistakes: ACL controls and protected attributes limit what can go wrong, and job logs show exactly what ran.
  • No developer needed for routine changes: Price rises, category moves, and text updates stay with the merchandising team.
  • Consistent pricing: Rounding rules keep bulk price changes on your pricing conventions rather than producing odd figures.
  • Flexible to the job: Small edits run instantly in the browser, large ones queue in the background.
