Overview

In July 2017, the Indian Government introduced the Goods and Services Tax (GST), replacing previous indirect taxes on the supply of goods and services. The sole taxation system defines the taxes to be levied on most of the goods and services for domestic consumption in India. Meetanshi's Indian GST for Magento 2 extension makes it easy for online store owners to implement Indian Goods and Services Tax in their Magento 2 stores.

The extension automates the calculation of Indian GST in the Magento 2 stores and helps you comply with the rules and regulations of the Central GST Act, 2017, of the Indian government. Using the GST Magento 2 extension, you can define the tax slabs and rules for calculating the GST for different products. It also lets you collect GSTIN on the product page to support the B2b transactions.

Furthermore, the GST India for Magento 2 extension auto-splits the taxes for inter-state and intra-state transactions into SGST, CGST, and IGST. A detailed summary of taxes is also shown to the customers in various order-related documents such as invoices and shipment & credit memos.

Align your online business with the rules of Indian Goods & Services Tax (GST) using Indian GST Magento 2 extension by Meetanshi.

How Does The Extension Work?

The admin needs to enable the GST extension from the backend, allow/disallow buyers to enter GSTIN, and enter GSTIN, CIN, and Pan number. The admin needs to enter the GST rate (in %) for all products, enter the minimum product price to apply GST, and enter the rate for the products below that price. The admin can select the business location for the calculation of inter-state & intra-state GST, upload the signature, and enter the signature line, which will be displayed on the invoice PDF.

The admin needs to configure the shipping GST settings and choose to calculate shipping prices, including or excluding the GST. The admin can also configure specific GST rates for individual categories and products.

Once configured, details of the applied GST are shown on the checkout page. The CGST, SGST, and IGST are applied to the order based on the delivery location of the order. After successful order placement, the customers can find complete GST details in the My Orders section. The admin can also find the same in the Order View section in the backend.

Complete details of the applied GST are sent to the customers in the order confirmation mail. The credit memo & invoice also contains all the GST details along with the uploaded signature. The admin can create a complete GST report from the GST Orders Report section in the backend.
