Feel like your shipping pricing does not justify all the orders? We've developed a Distance Based Shipping Calculation for Magento 2 extension that auto-calculates shipping based on the distance between the store and the door.

If you are selling your products to customers from a wide geographical area, the cost of delivering the orders may vary from order to order based on the distance. In such cases, setting up a flat rate shipping for the orders may end you up with non-profitable deals and cart abandonment rates. Meetanshi's Distance Based Shipping for Magento 2 extension solves this problem by auto-calculating the shipping based on the delivery location.

The module uses the Google Geocode API to retrieve the distance and calculate the estimated shipping cost. Just define the distance-based shipping rules in the backend, and the shipping cost for the orders will be auto-calculated on the checkout!

Offer fair shipping rates without cutting down the profits in your Magento 2 store using Distance Based Shipping Calculation for Magento 2 extension.

Account & Pricing

The extension uses Google Map Geocode API to calculate the distance between the store and the customer location. You need to sign up for Google MAP Geocode API, enable the APIs, and add the API keys obtained from the Google Cloud Platform Console. Check out Google Map Geocode API pricing plans.

Features:

  • The admin can enable the extension from the backend.
  • The admin can enter a custom title for the distance-based shipping method.
  • The admin can specify the method name and enter a custom error message for the method.
  • The admin can connect the Google Map Geocoded API by entering the Google Map API Key.
  • The admin can choose the warehouse selection from the following options:
    • Manual

    • Kilometers
    • Meters
    • Miles
    • Yards

    • Fixed
    • Per Unit
  • The admin can enter the minimum & maximum order amount and the maximum shipping distance to apply the distance-based shipping method in Magento 2.
  • The admin can allow customers from all or only selected countries to use distance-based shipping in Magento 2.
  • The admin can choose to show or hide the shipping method if it's unavailable and specify its sorting order.
  • The admin can manage the warehouse addresses in the backend 'Warehouse Manager' grid. Here the admin can edit the existing warehouses or add new ones.
  • The admin can enable/disable the warehouse, and add street address, city, country, state, and zip code.
  • The admin can select the applicable store views for the warehouse.
  • Once configured, the customers are allowed to select the warehouse on the checkout page, and the shipping rates are calculated on the basis of the distance between the warehouse and the shipping destination.
  • After order placement, the customers can find the distance-based shipping method information in the My Orders section.
  • The admin can also find the distance-based shipping information in the backend.

How Does The Extension Work?

The admin needs to enable the extension and set a custom title, method name, and a custom error message. The admin needs to enter the Google Map API Key, choose the warehouse selection, and specify the distance-based shipping calculation rules. The admin needs to enter the minimum and maximum order amounts and the maximum distance for shipping to use distance-based shipping. The admin also needs to select all or the applicable countries for using the distance-based shipping method. The needs to choose to hide the shipping method if it's not applicable.

The admin needs to create a warehouse from the backend. The admin can enable the warehouse, enter a street address and city, select country & state, enter the zip code, and select the applicable store views. Once configured, the customers can select the warehouse on the checkout page, and the shipping fees will be automatically calculated based on the distance between the warehouse and the delivery address.

After successful order placement, the customers can find the distance-based shipping details in their My Account section, and the admin can find the same details in the sales order view backend grid.
