Auto Related Products for Magento 2 by Meetanshi replaces manual product linking with a rules engine. Instead of assigning related, up-sell, and cross-sell products by hand on every SKU, you write rules once, for example show frequently bought together items on the product page for logged-in customers, and the blocks populate themselves from real store data.

Magento's native related products have two problems. They are manual, so on a catalog of any size they get set up once and never maintained, and they are blind, with no view of what customers actually buy or view together. This auto related products extension fixes both. It builds bought-together and viewed-together indexes from your own order and browsing data over a lookback window you define, and it can also pull from bestsellers, new arrivals, top-rated products, category or attribute conditions, or a manual static list when you want to merchandise something specific.

Every rule is scoped and scheduled. Set the store views, customer groups, priority, and an active date range, then define where it shows using display position and page conditions, what it shows using the product source and product conditions, and how it shows using one of six templates: Grid, List, Carousel, Compare, Frequently Bought Together, or Sidebar. A live Preview tab shows the exact products a rule currently matches before you publish it, so nothing goes live untested.

Features of Auto Related Products for Magento 2

  • Rule-based product blocks: Create unlimited rules under Marketing > Auto Related Products > Rules, each with its own name, status, priority, and description.
  • Data-driven product sources: Populate blocks from bought-together and viewed-together data computed from your own orders and browsing, plus bestsellers, new arrivals, top-rated products, condition-based selection, or a manual static list.
  • Configurable lookback window: Set the data gathering period in days, or leave it empty for lifetime statistics, and choose which order statuses count toward bought-together aggregation.
  • Full rule scoping: Target rules by store view, customer group, and priority, and schedule them with from and to dates.
  • Page and product conditions: Control where a rule fires using display position and page conditions, and what it returns using product conditions.
  • Six display templates: Grid, List, Carousel, Compare, Frequently Bought Together, and Sidebar, with a custom template path option for your own layouts.
  • A/B testing built in: Make any rule a variant of a parent rule and assign a traffic weight from 1 to 100 to split traffic between versions.
  • Per-rule performance statistics: Track impressions, clicks, CTR, add to cart, purchases, conversion rate, and revenue, shown daily over the last 30 days in both chart and grid form.
  • Live rule preview: See the exact products a rule currently matches, with standard grid filters, before the rule goes live.
  • Bundle Packs with flexible discounts: Build product bundles with no discount, percent off, a fixed amount off, or tiered per-product discounts.
  • Dynamic bundle assignment: Attach bundles to main products manually or by defining conditions, so new matching products pick the bundle up automatically.
  • Bundle placement options: Show bundles on the product page, in a product tab, on a chosen CMS page, in the top menu with a custom label and position, in the shopping cart, and on the checkout success page.
  • Cart upsell messaging: Display a hint in the cart telling shoppers which products to add to unlock a Bundle Pack discount.
  • Configurable options popup: Show a variant selection popup when adding configurable products from a bundle, always or only when multiple options exist.
  • Flexible discount timing: Choose whether bundle discounts apply as items are added individually or only once the complete pack is in the cart.
  • Bundle Pack statistics: Separate reporting on how often each bundle is viewed, added to cart, and purchased.
  • Suppress native blocks: Automatically hide Magento's built-in related, up-sell, and cross-sell blocks where a rule occupies the same slot, preventing duplicate product lists.
  • GA4 and GTM integration: Push impression and click events to window.dataLayer for your existing analytics setup.
  • REST API endpoints: Optionally expose the extension's data over REST for headless and external integrations.
  • Hyvä support: Auto-detects the active theme, with a manual override for hybrid Luma and Hyvä deployments.
  • Carousel controls: Set items per row, infinite loop, autoplay, and autoplay speed for slider templates.
  • Indexer tuning: Configure the bought-together window, new arrival window, top-rated threshold percentage, and how many products qualify as bestsellers.
  • Asynchronous event recording: Queue impression events through a message queue consumer instead of writing them during the request.
  • GDPR-friendly tracking: Hash visitor IPs before they are stored, and set a retention period after which hourly statistics are pruned.
  • URL exclusions: Suppress auto-related blocks on specific URL patterns, one per line.
  • Per-block presentation control: Set the number of products, sort order, block title, whether out-of-stock items appear, which of the Add to Cart, Wish List, and Compare buttons show, and custom CSS.

Use Cases of Auto Related Products for Magento 2

  • Replacing manually maintained related products across a catalog too large to keep current by hand.
  • Showing a Frequently Bought Together block driven by real order data rather than a merchandiser's guess.
  • Running a New Arrivals or Bestsellers block that refreshes itself as the catalog and sales change.
  • Offering different recommendations to different customer groups, such as wholesale versus retail.
  • Scheduling seasonal or campaign-specific blocks that switch on and off by date without anyone remembering to disable them.
  • A/B testing a carousel against a grid, or one product source against another, to find what actually converts.
  • Building accessory bundles, such as a camera with a bag, card, and spare battery, at a bundle discount.
  • Raising average order value with a cart-page bundle suggestion shown right before checkout.
  • Stores on Hyvä that need recommendation blocks matching their frontend rather than a Luma-only widget.
  • Merchants who report on recommendation performance in GA4 and want impression and click events in the same place as the rest of their funnel.
  • Headless or multi-frontend setups that need recommendation data over REST.

Benefits of Auto Related Products for Magento 2

  • Higher average order value: Relevant cross-sells and discounted bundles give shoppers a reason to add more before checkout.
  • Recommendations that stay current: Blocks are computed from live data, so they follow buying behaviour instead of going stale.
  • Merchandising time back: One rule can cover thousands of products that would otherwise be linked individually.
  • Decisions backed by numbers: A/B testing and per-rule revenue reporting show which blocks earn money, rather than leaving it to opinion.
  • Cleaner product pages: Native related blocks are suppressed where a rule already fills the slot, so shoppers do not see duplicate lists.
  • Control alongside automation: Manual static lists, per-rule conditions, and manual bundle assignment mean you can override the data whenever you want to.
  • Confidence before publishing: The preview tab shows the real matched product set, so rules can be checked before customers see them.
  • Performance-conscious tracking: Queued event recording keeps statistics collection off the page request.
  • Privacy-aware by configuration: IP hashing and a stats retention period support your data handling obligations.
