Back to topOverview
Back to topOpenAI Commerce Feed prepares a fast JSON product feed that is structured for emerging OpenAI shopping experiences. It is lightweight and configurable, so you can enable a public endpoint per store view and automate generation with cron. Whether OpenAI exposes a manual submission portal or a direct API, your feed is already in the right shape, accessible, and ready to integrate.
Key Features
- Store view control - enable or disable the feed per store view, set a file name, and run a feed on demand.
- Public feed endpoint - expose the generated JSON file so external services can fetch it.
- Cron automation - schedule feed generation to keep data fresh without manual work.
- Feed generation overview - review when a feed was generated, how many products were included, and whether the run was manual or automated.
- Attribute mapping ready - sensible defaults for core product attributes, with room to extend as OpenAI specifications evolve.
- Performance conscious - designed to be lean and scalable on large catalogs.
Benefits
- Be first to connect - have a compatible feed ready when new AI shopping surfaces launch.
- Lower integration risk - decouple feed preparation from future API mechanics so you can adapt faster.
- Operational clarity - audit feed runs, counts, and status from a single admin view.
How it Works
- Install the module and enable it for the relevant store views.
- Configure the feed filename per store view, for example
openai-commerce-feed.jsonoropenai-commerce-feed-en.json. - Generate the feed manually to validate structure, then activate the cron schedule.
- Provide the public endpoint to the consuming service when available.
Data Included
The feed focuses on core commerce attributes that are broadly useful for AI shopping flows. Typical fields include:
- Identifiers: product id, SKU, URL, visibility
- Titles and descriptions
- Pricing: regular price, special price, currency
- Availability and stock status
- Media links: primary image and gallery
- Category breadcrumbs
- Custom attributes per store view when applicable
Note: Attribute coverage can evolve with OpenAI specifications. The module is designed to add or map attributes as guidelines mature.
Use Cases
- Prepare your catalog for OpenAI powered shopping experiences without waiting for final API shape.
- Pilot product discovery and Q&A on internal sandboxes that expect a clean JSON catalog.
- Share a stable product snapshot with partners that want a minimal, fast endpoint.
