Physical Gift Cards

Redemption/credit feature

Our Gift Card extension provides customers with two convenient options:

• Gift Card Redemption: Customers can use all or part of their gift card balance to pay for their current order.
• Gift Card Credit: Any remaining balance on the gift card can be saved and used for future purchases.

Using cards to pay all fees

Gift cards can be used to cover not just the product price but the entire bill, including additional charges like shipping, taxes, and gift wrapping. If the gift card balance is greater than the total order amount, the customers have to pay nothing.

Unredeemed balance return

When this feature is enabled, any unused balance from a fully redeemed gift card will be refunded to the customer’s “My Current Balance” in the “My Gift Card” section. However, this refund is only available if the gift card code has not expired.

Checking balance

Before checkout, customers can easily check their gift card balance to see if it covers the full order amount or if they’ll need to use another payment method.

Gift card report

An effective strategy relies on performance tracking. Our revenue report gives admins a comprehensive overview of gift card performance, including key metrics such as:

• Total gift card codes
• Remaining balances
• Amounts used
• Total amounts purchased
• Other essential details for each code

Additionally, store owners can access a detailed history grid of customer gift card activity. This grid includes information such as:

• Gift code
• Actions taken
• Balance and amount changes
• Status
• Creation details and dates

Code import/export

The Mageplaza Gift Card extension helps you save time on importing and exporting codes by offering the following features:

• Easily export codes to CSV or Excel XML files
• Import codes using UTF-8 encoded files with customizable import behavior
