Overview

Compatibility: Now, the extension is compatible with Magento 2.4.7 and Hyva theme.

Mageplaza Catalog Permissions extension for Magento 2 allows store owners to control which customer groups can view specific categories, products, and static pages on their website. By customizing content access, customers are shown only the content that is relevant and valuable to them. This approach will create a more personalized and enjoyable shopping experience for customers. If a customer tries to access a restricted page, they will be redirected to an alternative page with a message explaining the restriction.

Feature Summary

Restrict the visibility of categories and products for specific customer groups

How useful would it be if you customize what different customer groups see on your website?

With this Catalog Permissions module, store admins can restrict category and product visibility for specific groups such as general, wholesalers, and retailers. Only authorized groups can access certain content and prevent non-targeted users from viewing exclusive materials.

For example, store owners can display high-end watches only to high-income customers while hiding them from students who may not be interested or able to purchase them.

Limit access to static page & static block

The Catalog Permissions feature in Magento 2 allows store admins to restrict access to specific Static Pages or Static Blocks according to customer groups. For instance, sensitive content such as the Return and Refund Policy and Commission Policy can be limited to wholesalers only. This advanced permissions tool ensures that store owners have full control over who can see specific content.

Hide catalog search box

The Category Permissions plugin for Magento 2 allows store owners to restrict customer groups on all pages with search bars. Admins can choose multiple groups at once, such as NOT LOGGED IN, General, Wholesale, and Retailer. If store admins don't want to apply restrictions by customer group, they just leave the field blank.

Edit categories & products

When merchants use this extension, they can update category and product details such as content, descriptions, images, layouts, display positions, and attributes. For pages and blocks, admins can edit titles, identifiers, store views, and more.

Additionally, users can simply click an edit button to open a convenient popup for modifying categories and products.

Redirect restricted customers to other pages

Redirecting restricted customers to other pages helps avoid frustration when they attempt to access products they can't view. The Catalog Permissions extension allows store admins to redirect them to CMS pages or specific URLs. Admins can easily set a forwarding URL, like the Home page, a 404 page, or a notification page explaining the restriction.

Display redirect message

By using the Category Permissions module, store owners can improve user experience by informing customers why they are being redirected. This happens when they attempt to view restricted content. Therefore, store owners can ensure that users who are denied access to specific products, categories, CMS pages, or blocks have a clear understanding.

Set valid time for catalog restriction

The Mageplaza Category Permissions plugin for Magento 2 allows businesses to set specific times for when restrictions should apply. This feature is particularly helpful for limiting access during special holidays, peak seasons, or when product availability is limited. For instance, store owners can make products visible only to logged-in customers during peak times like Black Friday.

Specify the IPs to exclude

The 'Input the Excluded IPs' feature lets administrators enter IP addresses that will bypass restrictions. Users with these IP addresses can access all categories and products in the Magento store without any limitations, regardless of the catalog permissions for their customer group.
