Overview

Credit Manager lets you sell on account inside Magento. You give a customer a credit limit and payment terms, they check out with Net Terms, and Magento keeps the invoices, payments, and balance for you. You can see who owes what, what is overdue, and when to stop further orders.

This is for wholesalers, distributors, and other businesses that already sell on Net 15, Net 30, or similar terms. Magento Open Source does not track that. Adobe Commerce B2B only offers a simple payment-on-account limit. Without a ledger in the store, staff end up in spreadsheets, and a buyer can place another order after they have already reached their limit.

Setup is done in the Admin. Open MageMaclean → Credit Manager → Credit Accounts and create an account: a name, a credit limit, terms such as Net 30, and the Magento customers who may use it. Then enable the Net Terms payment method. At checkout, a signed-in buyer on that account can choose Net Terms and enter a purchase order number. If the order would go over their available credit, Magento either blocks it or lets it through with a warning. You choose which.

When you invoice the order, Credit Manager opens a matching receivable with a due date taken from the account terms. Staff record payments under MageMaclean → Credit Manager → Payments. The Aging Dashboard groups open balances into current, 1–30, 31–60, 61–90, and 90+ days, and you can export that to CSV. Optional emails send a monthly statement and reminders before and after the due date. Accounts that fall outside your rules can be placed on hold, and released again after payment if you want that.

Buyers can open My Account → Credit Account and see their limit, open balance, available credit, and unpaid invoices. You turn that page on or off in configuration. Everything a typical merchant needs is in Stores → Configuration → MageMaclean → Credit Manager: default terms, whether open orders count toward the limit, hold rules, statement and reminder emails, and the customer account page. No code changes are required. If your ERP is the real ledger, you can switch on mirror mode so Magento only enforces the balance your ERP has already recorded.

Features

  • Credit accounts with a limit, payment terms, and a status of Active, On Hold, or Suspended
  • One account can cover one customer or several
  • Net Terms at checkout, with a purchase order field, only for customers on an eligible account
  • A credit check that blocks the order or warns and records the event, including orders placed through REST or GraphQL
  • A receivable for each Magento invoice on terms, with a due date from the account
  • Payment recording that applies cash to open invoices, with an audit trail
  • Due dates for Net 15, 30, 45, 60, and 90, end of month, or a chosen day of the month
  • Admin lists for accounts, open invoices, and payments
  • Aging dashboard with day buckets, days-sales-outstanding, and CSV export
  • Monthly statements and reminder emails you can turn on or off
  • Automatic holds, with optional release after the account is paid down
  • A Credit Account page in My Account for Luma; Hyvä stores use the companion module included in this package
  • An ERP mirror mode when Magento should enforce a balance that lives in another system

What changes on your site

  • Admin menu: MageMaclean → Credit Manager for accounts, open invoices, payments, and the aging dashboard
  • Settings: Stores → Configuration → MageMaclean → Credit Manager
  • Payment methods: Net Terms (Credit Manager) under Sales
  • Checkout: eligible buyers see Net Terms and a purchase order field
  • My Account: a Credit Account page, when you leave that option enabled
  • Email: optional monthly statements and payment reminders, using Magento email templates

A common setup is a distributor on Net 30 with a fixed limit per buyer. Another is a finance team that wants aging and statements without leaving Magento. A third is a merchant whose ERP remains the ledger, and Magento only stops orders that would exceed the mirrored balance.

You can try it at creditmanager.magemaclean-demos.com. Sign in as credit@example.com / Pass1234! and open My Account → Credit Account.

Requires Magento Open Source or Adobe Commerce 2.4 and the free MageMaclean Core module (magemaclean/m2-core), which Composer installs with this package. PHP 8.1 through 8.5.
