Agent Gateway

Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets AI applications and procurement agents connect to external systems through a shared tool protocol—so assistants can discover capabilities, call tools, and exchange structured results without custom one-off integrations for every client. MCP is used across AI platforms and developer tools that speak the protocol over HTTP.

Agent Gateway is a Magento Open Source / Adobe Commerce extension that runs an MCP server inside your store. Merchants issue scoped, revocable agent API keys (company- or customer-aware) instead of sharing admin credentials. Compatible AI agents connect to /agent/mcp to search the catalog, read product detail, resolve company-aware pricing, check stock, and look up order status under least-privilege scopes. Typical use cases include B2B buyers whose AI procurement assistants need live catalog and pricing access, and merchants who want an auditable agent channel without exposing the Admin. After install, Admin gains MageMaclean → Agent Gateway (Agent Keys and Audit Log); the storefront adds the MCP HTTP endpoint with cache-safe responses. Pair with Agent Gateway Pro when you need carts, orders, guardrails, and approvals.

Account & Pricing

• Separate MCP / AI-platform account: Optional. Merchants do not need a MageMaclean cloud account. Connecting an AI client (for example Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or another MCP-compatible agent) may require an account with that AI vendor; those accounts are created outside Magento and are not provisioned by this extension.
• Account creation: No third-party service account is created during extension installation. Agent API keys are created in Magento Admin (MageMaclean → Agent Gateway → Agent Keys) or via CLI after install. For MCP protocol documentation, see modelcontextprotocol.io.
• Additional service fees: The Model Context Protocol itself is an open standard and does not charge Magento merchants a protocol fee. AI platform usage (LLM tokens, host agent subscriptions) is billed by the AI vendor, not by this extension. This Marketplace listing is free (OSL-3.0). • MageMaclean account: No separate MageMaclean service account or phone-home licence is required beyond installing the free package (and free magemaclean/m2-core dependency via Composer).
