Overview

Mage2Expert Order Success Page Feedback Form gives Magento 2 store owners a built-in way to ask shoppers how their experience went at the single most engaged moment of the entire purchase journey — the order confirmation ("Thank You") page. Immediately after checkout, a clean star-rating card appears on that page, right below the existing order summary and Create Account section, inviting the customer to rate their experience from 1 to 5 stars and, optionally, leave a written comment. There is no redirect to a separate survey tool and no page reload: the rating and comment are submitted instantly over AJAX, the submit button shows a brief loading spinner, and the card is then replaced in place with a simple thank-you message. This is the only visual change the extension makes to the storefront — cart, checkout, catalog, and every other page are left untouched, so merchants can be confident about exactly what changes their customers will see.

Everything about the feature is configurable from Stores → Configuration without touching any code: the module can be switched on or off entirely, the heading and description text shown above the stars can be rewritten to match your brand voice, and a written comment can be made optional or required before a customer can submit. On the admin side, every submission is captured automatically in a dedicated, sortable and filterable Feedback grid — no export tools or third-party survey dashboard required — and store owners can optionally receive a fully branded email notification, styled with their own store's email header, logo, and footer, the moment a new rating arrives, so a disappointed customer can be followed up with the same day. Because the form is added via standard Magento layout XML rather than a template override, it works cleanly with Luma and Blank-based themes out of the box, and every setting — including whether the form appears at all — is scoped per store view, making the extension equally suited to a single storefront or a multi-store, multi-language Magento installation. Typical uses include a fashion retailer gauging satisfaction after every sale without adding friction to checkout, a growing store routing low ratings straight to a support inbox for same-day follow-up, or a subscription business tracking customer sentiment trends over time from the admin grid.

Features

  • Order Success Page Feedback Card — injected automatically into the standard checkout success layout, right after the order confirmation message and Create Account section. No template overrides required.
  • 1–5 Star Rating Widget — clickable star rating with a hover preview and a Poor / Fair / Good / Very Good / Excellent label, styled to match your storefront theme.
  • Optional or Required Comment Box — customers can add free-text feedback alongside their rating; a configuration toggle makes the comment mandatory.
  • AJAX Submission with Loading State — the form submits without a page reload, showing a spinner on the submit button while the request is in flight and swapping in a thank-you message on success.
  • One Feedback per Order — enforced both in the UI (the card does not render again once feedback exists for the current order) and at the database level via a unique constraint on the order ID, preventing duplicate submissions.
  • Dedicated Admin Feedback Grid — a sortable, filterable grid listing every submission with Order #, Customer Name, Customer Email, Rating, Comment, Store View, and Submitted date, plus single and bulk delete actions.
  • Standard Magento ACL — separate permission resources for viewing the grid and deleting records, so access can be granted per admin role.
  • Branded Admin Email Notifications — an optional email sent on every new submission, rendered using your store's own Magento transactional email header and footer (not a generic template), showing the order number, star rating, comment, and customer, with a direct link into the admin grid.
  • Configurable Notification Template & Sender — the notification uses a standard Magento email template, editable like any other system email, with a configurable recipient, template, and sender identity.
  • Custom Form Title & Description — the heading and supporting text shown above the star rating are fully editable per store view.
  • Store-View Scope Throughout — every configuration field, including the master Enable Module switch, is store-view scoped for multi-store and multi-language installs.
  • Enable / Disable without Uninstalling — a master switch under Stores → Configuration → Mage2Expert → Success Feedback hides the frontend form while preserving every previously submitted feedback record.
  • Zero Core Code Modifications — built entirely on Magento's layout XML, plugin-free block and controller architecture. No class rewrites, no preferences, no patches. Safe alongside Magento upgrades and other extensions.

How It Works

After installing the extension, enable it under Stores → Configuration → Mage2Expert → Success Feedback — the module ships disabled by default. Once enabled, every customer who completes checkout sees the feedback card on their order success page automatically; no further setup is required. The card reads the order directly from the checkout session, so it works correctly for both guest and logged-in customers. Submitted ratings and comments appear immediately in Content → Success Feedback → Feedback in the admin panel.

The Feedback Form

The star rating and comment box are rendered inline on the Thank You page using the store's own theme styling, with hover previews and a rating label for clarity. Submission happens over AJAX, so the customer never leaves the order confirmation page. Once feedback has been submitted for an order, the card is replaced with a simple thank-you message and will not reappear for that order, even on repeat visits.

Admin Feedback Management

The admin Feedback grid gives store owners a single place to review every submission: filter and search by order number, customer, or comment text; sort by rating or submission date; and remove records individually or in bulk. The grid is registered under its own ACL resource, so access can be restricted to specific admin roles independently of other Content permissions.

Email Notifications

When enabled, an email is dispatched to the configured recipient (or the store's default general contact address) immediately after each submission. The notification is rendered through Magento's standard email template pipeline, inheriting your store's own header, logo, and footer from your Transactional Emails design configuration — so it looks like a native part of your store's communications, not a generic add-on email. The template can be cloned and customized from Marketing → Communications → Email Templates like any other system email.

Use Cases

  • Post-purchase experience tracking — capture a lightweight satisfaction signal for every order without disrupting the checkout flow or relying on a separate survey tool.
  • Early warning for service issues — low ratings and comments arrive in the admin grid (and optionally by email) in real time, letting support teams follow up quickly.
  • Internal quality reporting — export or review feedback trends over time from the admin grid to spot recurring themes in customer comments.
  • Multi-store retailers — run independent feedback collection per store view, with store-scoped form text and notification settings.
  • Stores that don't want public reviews — feedback is private, admin-only data, making it a lower-friction alternative to public product review requests for stores that just want direct customer insight.
