Overview

Mage2Expert Shop by Brand is an extension for Magento 2 that gives every brand you carry its own dedicated storefront page, an A–Z all brands directory with live search and category filters, a product page brand block, configurable navigation menus, and a native Magento widget for featuring brands anywhere on the site. Each brand record is managed entirely from the admin — logo upload, short and full HTML descriptions, URL key, SEO fields, brand attribute option mapping, and category groupings — without writing a single line of code. Products are automatically shown on a brand's page as soon as the matching attribute option is set on the product record; no per-product reassignment or reindex is required. For stores that carry many brands, the all brands directory provides alphabet letter filters, pill-style brand category tabs, and a live search box that narrows results in real time. A native Magento widget lets you place a Featured Brand Slider or Grid on any page with configurable breakpoints for desktop, tablet, and mobile. The XML sitemap integration automatically includes brand category URLs and individual brand page URLs in every generated sitemap. All configuration settings are store-view scoped, making the extension fully compatible with multi-store and multi-language setups from the start.

Features

  • Dedicated Brand Pages — each brand record automatically generates a storefront page displaying the brand logo, short description, full HTML description, website link, and a filtered product grid with layered navigation. Layout is configurable as 1-column or 2-column per brand.
  • All Brands A–Z Directory — a single listing page (default URL: /brands) with an alphabet filter bar, pill-style brand category tabs, and live search autocomplete that filters results in real time without a page reload.
  • Brand Admin Grid — a dedicated grid under Magento Expert → Brands with filterable and sortable columns; Active / Inactive status, Featured flag, and Sort Order can be updated from the grid without opening individual brand records.
  • Rich Brand Edit Form — each brand record stores logo image, Short Description, WYSIWYG Full Description, URL Key, Brand Website URL, Brand Attribute Option mapping, Featured flag, Sort Order, Brand Categories, and a full SEO tab (Meta Title, Meta Keywords, Meta Description, Meta Robots).
  • Product Attribute Mapping — set the Brand Attribute in General Settings to any existing Dropdown or Swatch product attribute (e.g. Manufacturer). Map each brand record to an attribute option and every product with that option appears on the brand page automatically.
  • Brand Categories — group brands into categories that power the tab filters on the All Brands page, the dropdown navigation menu, and widget filtering. Brand categories have their own admin grid with name, URL key, position, and store-view scope.
  • Navigation Integration — add a Brands link to the top navigation bar, the footer links section, or a flyout dropdown menu that groups brands by category. Each placement is toggled independently from the admin and is store-view scoped.
  • Product Page Brand Block — displays brand logo and name on every product page for products with a mapped brand record. Block position and display options are configurable without theme changes.
  • Featured Brand Widget — a native Magento widget (widget.xml) with Slider or Grid display style, configurable items per breakpoint, auto-play, infinite loop, arrows, dots, brand name visibility toggle, category filter, and optional View All Brands link. Placeable on any page via Content → Widgets.
  • Per-Brand SEO Control — Meta Title, Meta Keywords, Meta Description, and Meta Robots on every brand record. Fields fall back to the brand name when left empty. The global Brand Details Page URL Prefix (default: brand) is configurable in General Settings.
  • XML Sitemap Integration — two sitemap item providers are registered with Magento's native sitemap generator: one for brand category pages and one for individual brand pages. Each is independently togglable with configurable priority and change frequency.
  • Store-View Scope Throughout — all configuration sections (General, Brands Page, Navigation, Product Page, Brand Detail, Featured Brands, Sitemap) are fully store-view scoped for multi-store and multi-language setups.
  • Enable / Disable without Uninstalling — a master Enable Module switch in Stores → Configuration → Magento Expert → Shop by Brand suppresses all frontend output while leaving every brand record, logo, and SEO field intact. Re-enabling restores everything immediately.
  • Zero Core Code Modifications — built entirely on Magento's layout XML, widget framework, EAV, plugin, and observer architecture. No class rewrites, no preferences, no patches. Safe alongside Magento upgrades and other extensions.

How It Works

After enabling the extension, go to Stores → Configuration → Magento Expert → Shop by Brand and set the Brand Attribute to an existing Dropdown or Swatch product attribute such as Manufacturer. Then navigate to Magento Expert → Brands → Add New Brand, fill in the brand name, logo, description, and URL key, and map it to the matching attribute option value. Save. The brand page is immediately live at /brand/<url-key> and the all brands directory at /brands shows the new brand card. All products that carry the mapped attribute option are automatically displayed on the brand's product grid — no reindex or cache flush is required.

Featured Brand Widget

The widget is a first-class Magento widget registered via widget.xml. Each instance is fully independent and configurable from Content → Widgets

  • Display style — Slider (carousel) or Grid
  • Items per breakpoint — separate counts for desktop, tablet, and mobile
  • Slider behaviour — auto-play interval, infinite loop, navigation arrows, dot indicators
  • Brand name — show or hide the brand name below the logo per widget instance
  • Category filter — restrict the widget to brands from a specific brand category
  • View All link — optional link to the all brands directory with a custom label

SEO & Sitemap

Every brand page has a canonical URL built from the global URL prefix and the brand's URL Key. Per-brand Meta Title, Meta Keywords, Meta Description, and Meta Robots fields give full control over how each brand page is indexed. When a sitemap is generated from Marketing → SEO & Search → Site Map → Generate, brand category URLs and individual brand page URLs are automatically included with the configured priority and change frequency values.

Use Cases

  • Multi-brand retailers — give every brand an SEO-friendly page with a curated product grid to capture branded search queries (e.g. "Nike shoes on [store]").
  • Distributors and wholesalers — let trade buyers browse an A–Z brand catalogue and jump straight to a brand's product range without navigating category trees.
  • Fashion and lifestyle stores — feature brand logos in a home page slider to reinforce brand identity and increase basket value through brand-driven discovery.
  • Electronics and hardware stores — surface brand descriptions and website links alongside products so shoppers can validate manufacturer credibility without leaving the store.
  • Multi-store setups — maintain different active brand sets, navigation placements, and SEO fields per store view with no additional configuration overhead
