Mage2Expert Maintenance Page is a full-featured maintenance and coming-soon extension for Magento 2 that lets store owners take their site offline for visitors without touching a single line of code. Once enabled from the Admin panel, all frontend traffic is seamlessly redirected to a professional, fully branded maintenance page — while the admin panel and whitelisted IPs remain completely accessible. Whether you are deploying a major update, migrating to a new server, rebuilding your catalogue, or preparing a brand-new store for launch, this extension ensures that visitors are met with a polished, on-brand experience instead of a blank screen or a generic server error. The page is configured entirely from Stores → Configuration → Magento Expert → Maintenance Page — no template edits, no FTP access, and no developer involvement required. 

The extension ships with six predefined design templates — Dark Space, Ocean Breeze, Sunset Glow, Forest Night, Tech Dark, and Minimal Light — each of which auto-fills the colour palette and background, giving you a professional result in seconds. For stores that want a completely unique look, every visual element is individually configurable: upload your own logo and full-bleed background image, pick background and text colours using an inline hex colour picker, or write custom CSS rules without leaving the Admin. Five built-in SVG backgrounds (Abstract Dark, Ocean Waves, Gradient Sunset, Geometric, and Particle Network) provide attractive options when no custom image is uploaded. A live countdown timer with a configurable target date and label text builds anticipation for re-launch. An optional Notify Me subscriber form collects visitor email addresses directly into Magento's native Newsletter Subscribers list, so you can notify your audience the moment the store goes live. Social media icons for Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Pinterest keep visitors connected to your brand during downtime.

Design & Customisation

The maintenance page renders on a dedicated layout that removes all standard Magento chrome — no header, navigation, footer, or cookie notices — ensuring a clean, distraction-free presentation. Every visual setting is controlled from a single configuration section in the Admin. Six ready-to-use design templates let non-technical users apply a professional look in one click, while the Custom option exposes every colour, image, and CSS control for pixel-perfect branding. The background layer supports three tiers of priority: an uploaded image takes highest precedence, followed by a selected bundled SVG background, and finally a solid hex colour as the ultimate fallback. The inline colour picker renders a live colour swatch next to the hex input — clicking it opens a full-spectrum picker without navigating away from the configuration page. 

Countdown Timer & Subscriber Form

The countdown timer accepts any future date in YYYY-MM-DD format and displays a live days / hours / minutes / seconds breakdown with a configurable label. The Notify Me form connects directly to Magento's built-in newsletter subscription system — no third-party account or API key required. Submitted addresses appear immediately in Marketing → Communications → Newsletter Subscribers and can be exported for use in any email marketing platform. The subscriber endpoint implements CsrfAwareActionInterface to handle submissions from the maintenance page where no Magento form key is available. 

SEO & Search Engine Considerations

When running a maintenance window, the extension serves an HTTP 503 response by default. This signals to search engine crawlers that the outage is temporary and that they should return later, protecting your search rankings during the downtime period. For coming-soon pages where SEO is not a concern, the response code can be switched to 200 OK in a single click. The page also sets NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW robots meta tags automatically, preventing search engines from indexing the maintenance page itself.
