SMS Notifications & OTP for Magento 2 connects your Adobe Commerce store to the kwtSMS SMS gateway, enabling automated SMS notifications for orders, shipping, customer events, and admin alerts.

Purpose-built for the GCC market with full Arabic and English bilingual support. When a customer places an order, their phone receives an instant SMS confirmation. When an order ships, they get a tracking notification. Store administrators receive real-time alerts for new orders, new customers, and low stock levels.

  How It Works

• Go to Stores > Configuration > kwtSMS
• Enter your API credentials and click Login
• Select your Sender ID and default country code from the populated dropdowns
• Enable the SMS events you want (order, shipment, admin alerts)
• SMS messages are sent automatically when events occur

Phone Number Handling

The extension normalizes all phone numbers automatically before sending. It strips country code prefixes (+, 00), converts Arabic and Hindi numerals to Latin digits, removes domestic trunk prefixes  (e.g., Saudi 0559 becomes 559), validates against country-specific mobile rules, filters out numbers for countries not active on your account, and deduplicates bulk recipients.

SMS Templates

Each notification type has a pre-configured English and Arabic template with placeholder variables like order ID, customer name, store name, total, currency, and tracking number. Templates are editable from the admin panel. The correct language is selected automatically based on your store locale.
