Back to topOverview
Back to topMerchants running time-limited promotions often need Cart Price Rules that only apply during specific windows — a Friday happy hour, a weekend flash sale, or a lunch-time discount that repeats every day. Recurring Sales Rule extends Magento's native Cart Price Rules with day-of-week and time-of-day scheduling, so a single rule can turn itself on and off automatically, with no cron scripts or manual toggling required. Store owners choose which days of the week a promotion is active and the daily time window it runs in; outside that window, checkout behaves exactly as if the rule didn't exist. For example, a merchant could set up a rule that gives 15% off every Friday between 4 PM and 7 PM to drive weekend traffic, or a rule that only fires on weekday lunch hours to move inventory during slow midday periods — both run unattended once configured, and both stop applying automatically the moment the window closes.
Built by FS20 Studio, the extension adds directly onto the existing Cart Price Rule form in the admin panel, so there is no new screen to learn and no separate configuration area — admins configure and manage recurring promotions in the exact same place they already manage every other price rule. Turning on the new "Is Recurring" toggle reveals a day-of-week selector and start/end time fields; everything else about the rule (customer groups, conditions, actions, coupon codes) works exactly as it does today. Non-recurring rules are completely unaffected, so existing promotions and workflows continue to behave as before. On the storefront, customers simply see the discount apply or not apply depending on when they shop — cart and checkout totals update automatically within the scheduled window, with no visible difference in page layout or design. Because the schedule is enforced at rule-evaluation time rather than through a separate process, there's nothing to install, run, or monitor in the background: once a rule is set up, it reliably starts and stops on its own.
Features
- Adds an Is Recurring toggle to any Cart Price Rule, leaving existing non-recurring rules completely unaffected
- Repeat Every day-of-week selector — choose any combination of days a promotion should run
- Repeat Start At and Repeat End At controls define the daily time window during which the rule qualifies
- Works alongside Magento's native rule evaluation, so existing conditions, actions, and coupon logic continue to apply unchanged
- No cron jobs, third-party automation, or manual activation/deactivation needed — the schedule is enforced automatically at checkout
- Compatible with Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce 2.4.x
Use Cases
- Weekend flash sale — 10% off every Saturday and Sunday, 9 AM–5 PM
- Daily happy hour — a discount active only between 3 PM and 6 PM, every day
- Midweek promotion — a rule that runs only on Tuesdays and Wednesdays to drive traffic on slower days
