Back to topOverview
Back to topMyDHL Express Comprehensive Shipping automates the entire DHL Express delivery cycle — from real-time rates at checkout to label creation, pickup scheduling, tracking, returns, and Landed Cost (estimated import duties and taxes). The extension communicates with DHL through the official MyDHL Express REST API and supports both domestic and international shipments with paperless customs invoices.
To use the extension you need a DHL Express account. Contact your nearest DHL office or register at mydhl.express.dhl to obtain an API Key, API Secret, and Account Number. Shipping charges are billed directly by DHL to your account. The extension does not add any service fees — you pay only what DHL charges for your shipments.

Advantages
Thermal & PDF Shipping Labels
Create shipping labels manually, automatically, in batches, or on a schedule. The extension links each label to an order, shipment, or credit memo, and stores it on your server for later access from the store admin. When creating a label manually you can pick the exact DHL service and instantly see the shipping cost. In automatic mode labels are generated either by the method the customer chose at checkout, or by the minimum or maximum price across all available DHL methods.
Paperless Commercial Invoice
The extension supports worldwide shipping with paperless (PLT) or paper commercial invoices. You configure Harmonized Codes, Dangerous Goods and Hazardous Materials, Terms of Shipment, Reason for Export, Sold To Address, Business Party Type, EORI, and other customs fields. Your signature image is uploaded once and attached to outgoing invoices automatically.
Shipping Rates & Shipping Methods
Display shipping prices at checkout exactly as quoted by mydhl.express.dhl. Prices depend on insurance, declared value, weight, dimensions, and destination — all handled by the extension. Method cost can be static or dynamic, and you can show or hide methods using configurable price and weight limits. For international shipments, estimated import duties and taxes are displayed at checkout via DHL's Landed Cost API, giving customers full cost transparency before placing the order.
Landed Cost — Estimated Import Duties & Taxes
For international shipments the extension calls DHL's Landed Cost API alongside the rate request and displays estimated import duties, taxes, and fees at checkout. Each shipping method receives its own per-service duty estimate based on commodity codes (HS codes), country of origin, and destination tariff rates. Two presentation modes are supported: DDP (shipper pays), where duties are folded into the shipping price; and DAP (recipient pays), where duties appear as a separate informational line at checkout. Duty estimates are cached per quote so the displayed value stays consistent across the multiple checkout requests fired during a session.
Payment, COD, and Insured
Customize the payer model to fit your business. Shipping can be paid by Shipper or Third Party. Duties and taxes can be paid by Recipient (DAP) or Shipper (DDP). When the shipper pays, duties are automatically included in the shipping price; when the recipient pays, estimated duties and taxes are displayed as a separate checkout line. You can configure insurance, declared value type, and Invoice Line Total. TIN (Taxpayer Identification Number) is supported when required by the destination. For buyers paying on receipt, the COD (Cash on Delivery) option restricts checkout to allowed payment methods.
Return Shipping Labels & RMA
Return labels are first-class — you can create them on their own or together with the outbound label. Return labels have their own independent settings, so you can use different services, payers, or addresses for returns without touching the outbound configuration.
DHL Service Point at Checkout
Let your customers pick a DHL Service Point as the delivery destination instead of their home address. The picker opens at checkout with an embedded map (Google or Bing) and a list of nearby Service Points. The chosen point is stored on the order and shown in the cart, checkout summary, and admin order view. Requires a separate Location Finder API subscription from DHL.
Pickup & Tracking
Order a parcel pickup directly from the store admin. Select which labels should be picked up and the extension submits the request to DHL. You can see exactly which packages belong to each pickup and cancel pickups when needed. Once packages ship, track each label end-to-end through the admin — every scan and status update is displayed in order.
Printing
Printing is a key step when working with shipping labels. Use our companion app to print thermal and PDF labels on local or network printers, with optional proxy. Different document types (label, invoice, packing slip) can target different printers.
Sustainability — GoGreen
Enable GoGreen Climate Neutral to ship carbon-neutral with DHL. The setting can be configured per store or per shipping scope, so you can apply it to international shipments only, or to specific routes.
Configuration
The possibilities of our extension are truly unlimited thanks to flexible settings. At the same time the settings are intuitive and many are set by default. You can configure the extension for a specific store or a specific country. You can apply some settings to domestic shipments and other settings to foreign shipments. Completely separate settings are also possible for regular and return labels. For each continent you can have individual settings — all of this is supported out of the box.
Demo
You can try this extension for 30 days before you buy it. Sign in to your extmag.com account, open the extension page and press Request demo. The Try an extension for 30 days page explains what a demo includes, how you install it, and what happens when the 30 days end.
