Overview
Back to topYour customers can receive email notifications while the system maintains. Email Blocker for Magento 2 prevents email notifications from development/production environments in such cases. You are also able to block all emails except those to be sent to specified email addresses or domains or emails can be blocked based on a certain template(s). You can redirect all blocked emails to the specified email address(es) and select email templates that should not be sent to customers depending on your business needs.
Storefront features:
The extension doesn't have frontend features.
Besides this, the extension also allows:
- avoid sending unnecessary emails to customers from the test environment during migrating the database from the production environment;
- avoid sending unnecessary emails to customers from the test environment during testing;
- restrict sending certain types of emails to customers in the production environment.
Back-office features
- Enable/disable Email Blocker functionality on the global level for all customers;
- enable/disable debug logging for the Email Blocker extension;
- specify email addresses and domains which shouldn't be blocked from sending emails;
- specify email addresses to which blocked emails should be redirected;
- select email templates that should not be sent to customers depending on your business needs. Please pay attention, this functionality doesn't depend on enabling Email Blocker functionality in general and it works on the store view level.
Practical Case:
Let us imagine you want to block excess email notifications from the Magento side.
There are some cases where it is really helpful.
Case 1
Email notifications can be sent to your real customers from a test environment using cron, manual processes, or for any other reason. It is vital to prevent emails from being sent. An admin can enable the Email Blocker functionality in the admin panel to block emails before migrating data from the production environment to the test environment. Your developers are able to see emails that were not sent if they enable debug log in the admin panel.
Case 2
If you need to have the possibility to send email notifications to some email addresses when all emails are blocked you are able to specify the email addresses and domains which shouldn't be blocked for sending emails via enabling the Exceptional Email Addresses and Domains functionality in the admin panel.
Case 3
You are able to redirect all blocked email notifications to the specified address(es) in the admin panel.
Case 4
Helen is a customer. She decided to subscribe to newsletters. She sees the success message on frontend about it and receives the “Subscription Success” email notification. If you think that it is unnecessary to send the email you can block sending this email to customers. It helps you to avoid unnecessary emails to focus your customers on important email notifications only. You should select Email Templates and they will not be sent to customers at an upcoming event. Please pay attention that this possibility doesn't depend on the Email Blocker functionality and can work independently.
