Back to topThe Cache Management by Stores extension is a simple and convenient tool, designed to improve a website's performance. It helps to easily manage (enable/disable/flush) different types of cache within the selected StoreView. Selected cache types can be flushed only for the specified StoreView, and it will not affect the performance of other StoreViews and Websites in any way.
Besides this, the extension also allows:
- to enable/disable/flush cache for the selected StoreView with command line,
- to see cache statuses for the each StoreView,
- to flush cache by cron using the Cron expression,
- to select appropriate caches to be flushed by cron only if they are invalid.
Backend features:
- Admin can specify StoreView for the Cache management actions
- Admin is able to enable/disable/flush Cache types within the selected StoreView
- Cache Management Grid updated with Cache statuses for the existing StoreViews
- Column 'Store View Status' added to the Cache Management Grid
- StoreViews codes displayed in tiles in the column 'Store View Status'
- Tiles can have various colours. Each colour displays cache status for the particular Store View (Orange - Invalidated Cache, Red - Disabled Cache, Green - Enabled Cache)
- New cache commands created, to let Admin apply actions for the specified Cache within the particular StoreView
- Admin can enable Flush cache by Cron option with Cron expression usage and select Cache types to be flushed
- Cron should check if the caches, which are selected in the 'Cache Types' are invalidated and flush ONLY invalidated cache
Frontend features:
- There are no frontend features in this extension
Practical Case:
Let's imagine there are several online stores, managed by one Magento Admin Panel. All websites are different, and each one has its own design, catalog, and numerous widgets. And when it comes to changing any configuration or design for one website, usually a developer needs to clear the cache for all stores at the same time. This causes some challenges. This increases the load on the server, thus there is a risk that all websites may collapse. As well as the page loading time increases, worsening the user experience.
The Cache Management extension helps to overcome the challenges in this case. It allows clearing cache only for the chosen online stores. While the other sites’ cache remains intact and is not involved in the process in any way. This approach improves the page load speed and reduces the load on the server significantly, as only the chosen website is being processed. The users of the other online stores can continue to use the sites without any changes in the user experience.
Besides this advantage, the Cache Management extension allows also to install cache cleaning by cron. That is, make the settings and choose the online store where the cache will be available, define which cache should be cleaned automatically, and set up the frequency.
