Next Day Delivery Eligibility & Shipping Restrictor for Adobe Commerce and Magento Open Source ends the most expensive post-purchase complaint on any store that advertises fast delivery: a customer paying for next-day shipping on an item that physically cannot ship the same day. The extension automatically maintains a truthful Yes/No “Next Day Eligible” status on every product from real-time stock (with an optional per-product drop-ship override), shows shoppers a clear green “Next Day Eligible” or grey “Standard Delivery Only” badge beneath the price on the product page, and — the part that saves you money — automatically removes your configured express shipping methods at checkout whenever any item in the cart is not eligible. Your theme is never replaced: the badge is a small block added below the price and the checkout change is simply a shipping-rate filter, so your storefront, product pages and one-page checkout look and behave exactly as before — customers just can no longer pay for next-day delivery on orders that would arrive late. Everything is configurable per store view (badge labels, the shipping method codes that get restricted, and the drop-ship rule) with no template edits or custom code required, and it works on the standard checkout, the REST API, and headless / PWA storefronts.

Features

  • Automatic “Next Day Eligible” product status maintained from real-time stock — recomputed instantly on every stock save and product save, with no cron required
  • Per-product Drop-Ship Eligible override keeps supplier-fulfilled items eligible even when local stock is zero
  • Customer-facing green / grey delivery badge rendered below the price on the product detail page
  • Your configured next-day shipping method codes are automatically hidden at checkout when any cart item is ineligible
  • Works on the standard one-page checkout, multi-shipping checkout (evaluated per shipping address), the REST API, and headless / PWA integrations
  • Configurable, grouped and bundle product support with automatic parent-from-child eligibility propagation
  • Per-store-view configuration of badge labels and restricted shipping method codes
  • Optional admin warning when a product is left in a contradictory stock state (in stock, zero qty, no backorders)
  • Hyva theme compatible out of the box, alongside the standard Luma theme
  • Full, unencrypted PHP source — Magento Coding Standard and PHPStan clean
  • Adobe Commerce and Magento Open Source 2.4.4–2.4.8 on PHP 8.1, 8.2 and 8.3

Who it is for

  • Auto-parts and equipment retailers managing a mix of stocked and supplier-fulfilled SKUs
  • UK and EU stores promising “order before 3pm for next-day delivery”
  • Multi-channel sellers integrated with drop-ship suppliers
  • Any merchant losing chargebacks because checkout let customers pay for express delivery on backordered items

How it works

Each time stock is saved or a product is updated, the module recomputes eligibility with a single, transparent rule: a product is Next Day Eligible when it is in stock with a quantity greater than zero, or when it is flagged Drop-Ship Eligible. Configurable, grouped and bundle parents inherit eligibility from their child items. A green “Next Day Eligible” or grey “Standard Delivery Only” badge then renders below the price on the product page, and at checkout the configured next-day shipping method codes are stripped from the available rates whenever any cart item is not eligible.

Drop-ship exception

Products fulfilled directly by drop-ship suppliers stay next-day eligible even when local stock is zero. Set Drop-Ship Eligible = Yes on the product edit page and the supplier-shipped item shows the green badge and qualifies for express delivery. Eligibility recomputes immediately on save, so shoppers who already have the product in their cart see the updated state on the next page load without a cache flush.

Installation & support

Install by manual upload (unzip and bin/magento module:enable) or via Composer. A detailed PDF user guide is included, covering installation, a configuration walkthrough and a troubleshooting checklist. • Adobe Commerce or Magento Open Source 2.4.4 through 2.4.8
