Backorder Restock ETA Display replaces Magento’s vague “available for backorder” message with a concrete, dated delivery promise everywhere it matters. Instead of leaving shoppers guessing, it shows a clear estimate such as “Ships in 5-7 business days”, “Available Dec 15” or “Pre-order — January 5” on the product page, in the cart, at checkout and in the order confirmation email.

Merchants set a per-product ETA from the product grid or a single configuration screen, with a configurable store-wide default for products that have no specific value. The estimate only appears when a product is genuinely on backorder and has a non-empty ETA, so in-stock products are never affected. The result is fewer “where is my order?” support tickets and higher conversion on backorder and pre-order products — a date customers can trust beats a vague “out of stock”.
