    Please Note: Magento 2 Checkout Address Validation using USPS Address API 3.0 is an independent extension developed by EcomPlugins. It is not created, endorsed, or supported by the United States Postal Service (USPS). This downloadable Magento 2 extension integrates your store with the official USPS Address API 3.0 to verify customer shipping addresses in real time, improving delivery accuracy and reducing shipping errors.

    This extension is part of our complete Magento Address Validation solution and works seamlessly alongside our Magento 2 USPS Shipping REST API extension.

    During checkout, the extension automatically sends the customer's complete shipping address—including street address, city, state, ZIP/postal code, and country—to the official USPS Address API 3.0. USPS validates the address against its database and returns standardized or suggested addresses whenever available.

    Customers can select the recommended address before continuing through checkout, helping reduce returned packages, delivery delays, and address correction issues. If USPS cannot validate the address, merchants can allow customers to continue using the original address according to the configured checkout settings.

    The extension also validates customer addresses when creating or editing entries in the Magento Address Book, helping maintain accurate customer information across your entire Magento store.

    Important: USPS Address Validation requires an active USPS Developer account with access to the USPS Address API 3.0. USPS now requires developers to accept the API License Agreement and subscribe to the appropriate production API plan before live usage. This extension supports the latest USPS REST API 3.0 using secure OAuth 2.0 authentication.

    To use this extension, create a USPS Developer account at developer.usps.com, subscribe to the USPS Addresses API 3.0, and generate your API credentials.

    After obtaining your API credentials, simply configure the Client ID and Client Secret within Magento Admin. Production access requires acceptance of the USPS API license agreement and an active production subscription according to USPS pricing.

    Configuration

    Setup is simple:

    1. Create a USPS Developer account.
    2. Accept the USPS API License Agreement.
    3. Subscribe to the USPS Addresses API 3.0.
    4. Generate your Client ID and Client Secret.
    5. Configure your API credentials in Magento Admin.
    6. Enable the extension and choose your preferred address validation settings.
    7. Clear Magento cache and begin validating customer addresses automatically.
