This downloadable Magento 2 extension integrates your store with the official UPS Address Validation REST API to automatically determine whether a shipping address is Residential or Commercial before shipping rates are calculated.
This extension works seamlessly with our Magento 2 UPS Shipping REST API extension and complements our complete Magento Address Validation solution.
UPS shipping charges often vary depending on whether a shipment is delivered to a residential or commercial address. Incorrect address classification can result in inaccurate shipping rates, unexpected residential surcharges, or incorrect shipping methods being displayed during checkout.
During checkout, the extension automatically sends the customer's complete shipping address—including street address, city, state, ZIP/postal code, and country—to the official UPS Address Validation REST API. UPS analyzes the address and identifies whether it is classified as a Residential or Commercial delivery location.
The detected address type is automatically applied before Magento requests UPS shipping rates, ensuring customers receive accurate shipping costs without any manual intervention.
If UPS cannot determine the address type, the extension automatically falls back to your configured Magento UPS shipping settings, ensuring checkout continues without interruption.

Important: This extension supports the latest UPS REST API with secure OAuth 2.0 authentication. Ensure your UPS Developer account has access to the required Address Validation API before using the extension.
UPS Account & Pricing
To use this extension, create a UPS Developer account and generate your REST API credentials.
If you are using the latest UPS REST API, configure your Client ID and Client Secret in Magento Admin. If your store still uses the legacy UPS XML APIs, the extension also supports the traditional Access License Number, Username, and Password configuration where applicable.
UPS Developer API access is available at no additional cost for eligible UPS accounts. Standard shipping charges continue to apply according to your negotiated UPS rates.
