This downloadable Magento 2 extension integrates your store with the official FedEx Address Validation REST API to improve checkout accuracy, reduce failed deliveries, and enhance the customer experience.

    FedEx Express is one of the world's leading logistics companies, providing reliable domestic and international shipping services across more than 220 countries and territories. Their Address Validation API helps merchants verify shipping addresses before orders are placed, reducing shipping errors and improving successful deliveries.

    During checkout, the extension automatically sends the customer's complete shipping address—including street address, city, state, ZIP/postal code, and country—to the official FedEx REST API. The API validates the address and returns standardized or suggested addresses whenever available.

    If FedEx cannot validate the address, the customer can continue using the originally entered address, depending on your configuration settings. Merchants can choose whether customers must select a validated address before proceeding or allow checkout using the original address.

    The extension intelligently validates addresses only when necessary and avoids duplicate API requests by caching authentication tokens and previously verified addresses, resulting in faster checkout performance.

    Important: The FedEx Address Validation API is not enabled automatically for all FedEx accounts. You must contact FedEx to request activation of the Address Validation service for your production account. This extension uses the latest FedEx REST API with secure OAuth 2.0 authentication.

    FedEx provides API access at no additional cost for eligible shipping accounts. Standard shipping charges continue to apply according to your negotiated FedEx rates.
