Magento provides two types of product listing view - Grid and List. This extension is used for set specific view for each category. If admin wants some categories in grid mode and some categories in list mode then this extension is very useful. Admin can easily enabled/disabled this extension from back-end.  If none of mode is selected by admin then default mode is displayed on front-end

Back-end Settings

Admin can easily enabled/disabled this extension from Magento Admin >> Stores >> Configuration >> CP Extensions >> Category Product List/Grid View>> Enable as per shown below image.
