Overview

To calculate the base price for your Magento Shop, we have developed the BasePrice module. With the help of the BasePrice module, the base price of individual products can be entered in the Magento backend based on weight, size, length, area or volume and the correct product price per sales unit is calculated automatically. The module works with both simple and configurable items as well as with bundle products on the product page.

The settings are easy and flexible to make in the backend. The packaging unit as well as the reference unit, for example millilitres and litres, can be selected individually. In addition, the module can be easily activated and deactivated and the quantity can be adjusted.

BasePrice at a glance

  • Easy installation, no programming knowledge necessary
  • Automatic calculation of the base price in your Magento 2 shop

The Basic Price Ordinance is part of the German Price Indication Ordinance (PAngV) and is binding for many traders - whether online or offline. The Price Indication Ordinance stipulates that in trade with end consumers not only the total final price must be indicated, but also the exact converted price per unit of quantity (base price). This applies if goods are offered by weight, volume, length or area.

The aim of the Basic Price Ordinance is to provide the end consumer with factual and complete information as well as to ensure an optimal price comparison.

It must be possible to clearly allocate the respective prices to the articles and they must be easily recognisable and clearly legible.

With a regulation from 28 May 2022, the final price as well as the base price must be clearly visible and perceptible at a glance. In addition, only 1 kilogram or 1 litre may be used as a fixed unit of measure for the indication of base prices.
