    Security

    Security and compliance are central to the design of the Sola Magento 2 payment gateway extension. The integration is built to protect sensitive payment data while helping merchants simplify PCI compliance requirements.

     

    Integration Method

    The extension uses a secure API-based integration that communicates directly with the Sola payment gateway. Payment data is transmitted securely using encrypted connections between the Magento store and the gateway.

    Customers enter their payment information directly within the Magento checkout page, creating a smooth and uninterrupted checkout experience. Sensitive cardholder data is immediately transmitted to the Sola gateway, where it is securely processed and tokenized.

     

    Tokenization

    Sola uses tokenization technology to replace sensitive payment data with secure tokens. These tokens can be used for future transactions without exposing the underlying card data.

    Tokenization helps:

    • Reduce exposure to sensitive cardholder information
    • Protect stored payment credentials
    • Simplify compliance requirements for merchants
       

    PCI Compliance

    Because sensitive payment data is transmitted securely to the Sola gateway and replaced with tokens, merchants can reduce their PCI compliance burden.

    This integration is designed to support merchants operating under PCI SAQ A-EP requirements, depending on their overall checkout configuration and environment.

    Merchants should always confirm their PCI obligations with their compliance provider.

    Data Handling

    • Customer payment data is entered on the merchant’s Magento checkout page.
    • Sensitive cardholder data is transmitted securely to the Sola gateway during processing.
    • Full cardholder data is NOT stored on the Magento server.
    • Tokenized payment references may be stored for transaction management or recurring payments.

    By combining encrypted transmission, tokenization, and secure gateway processing, the Sola for Magento extension helps merchants deliver a safe payment experience while maintaining operational efficiency.
