Avalara Tax Certificate Sharing

Automate the tax-exempt certificate process for your customers and buyers with the ability for multiple users for one company. Together with Avalara’s AvaTax app, Cadent Commerce now gives your team the ability to have one tax certificate uploaded by one employee and used by the whole company. 

The Avalara Tax Certificate Sharing app by Cadent Commerce extends the Avalara AvaTax module to automatically share tax-exemption certificates between customers in Adobe Commerce. Without this extension, each customer account holds its own isolated set of certificates in Avalara — meaning a company or group of related customers must each upload and maintain their own certificates independently.

This extension introduces a configurable sharing model that links certificates across related customer accounts, keeping Avalara in sync automatically via a background queue and a scheduled cron job.

Features

• B2B Certificate Sharing: Shares certificates among customers belonging to the same B2B Company or Customer Group.
• B2C Certificate Sharing: Shares certificates among individual (non-company) customers within the same customer group. Specific groups can be excluded.
• Group-Change Handling: automatically unlinks shared certificates when a customer moves to a new group or company.
• ERP Certificate Sync: Synchronises certificates between a customer's eCommerce Avalara profile and their ERP Avalara profile.
• Scheduled Cron Sync Full reconciliation sweep across all sharing groups on a configurable interval. Defaults to every 30 minutes.
• Automatic Queue-Based Sync: Certificate linking/unlinking is triggered automatically via an async message queue on customer save and delete — no manual action required.
