Overview

Azupay Real Time Payments for Magento enables Australian merchants to accept secure, instant payments directly through PayID and PayTo within their Adobe Commerce storefront. Customers complete payment using their banking app, while merchants receive real-time status updates, instant settlement confirmation, and automated order handling. This solution is ideal for any business looking to streamline checkout, eliminate chargebacks, improve cash flow, and offer a modern account-to-account (A2A) payment experience.

Whether you sell retail products, manage large order volumes, or operate in industries that benefit from real-time settlement (e.g., utilities, digital goods, ticketing, or membership services), Azupay’s real-time payments solution delivers a seamless, secure, and fully integrated payment workflow inside Adobe Commerce.

Account and Pricing

A separate Azupay account is required to use this payment method.  Accounts are not created during installation and must be set up directly with Azupay.

For account setup, onboarding and pricing enquiries, contact the Azupay team at: https://azupay.com.au/contact-us/

Features

  • Offer customers a fast, secure payment method powered by the New Payments Platform (NPP). Customers pay instantly via their bank’s mobile app using PayID or authorise payments via PayTo.
  • Invoices are automatically generated when payment is confirmed, streamlining fulfilment and reducing manual processing.
  • Shopping cart is automatically restored if the payer cancels the payment transaction.
  • Process refunds directly from the Magento admin panel. Refund requests are securely transmitted to Azupay and processed in real time, with Magento order statuses updated automatically.
  • Access to Azupay payment dashboard with additional transaction search and report functionality.

How it works

Payment Flow

  1. Customer selects “Azupay PayID” at checkout.
  2. A secure payment request is generated through the Azupay API.
  3. The customer is redirected to the success page, where the Azupay payment interface appears.
  4. Customer completes the payment using their bank app.
  5. Azupay sends a real-time webhook update to Magento.
  6. Magento marks the order as Paid and automatically generates an invoice.

Refund Flow

  1. Admin creates a Credit Memo in Magento.
  2. Magento sends a secure API request to Azupay.
  3. Azupay processes the refund and notifies Magento instantly.
  4. The order is updated with the refund confirmation and associated comments.

Use cases

  • Australian merchants offering PayID or PayTo as a payment method
  • Businesses requiring fast settlement and improved cash flow
  • Retailers seeking to reduce fraud, chargebacks and payment delays
  • Merchants with high order volumes seeking automated reconciliation
  • Digital goods and services providers needing instant payment confirmation

Security & PCI Compliance

  • Azupay Real Time Payments uses a redirect-based payment flow to ensure that no customer payment data is handled or stored by the merchant’s Adobe Commerce server.
  • All payment data entry occurs on Azupay’s secure payment interface.
  • No customer banking or personal payment data is captured, processed, or stored by the Magento environment.
  • All communication with Azupay’s API uses encrypted, authenticated connections.
  • Webhooks are validated and secured to ensure authenticity.
  • Because payment data is not entered or stored on the merchant website, this integration aligns with SAQ A requirements.
  • Merchants remain outside the scope of handling sensitive payment information.
  • Azupay maintains secure handling of real-time payment data in accordance with industry standards.
