About This Extension

The Novuna Finance Integration for Magento, developed by Autify Digital, connects your Magento 2 store directly to the Novuna Consumer Finance platform, enabling you to offer retail finance payment options throughout the shopping journey without any custom development work. Once installed and configured, the module displays finance messaging and representative payment examples on product pages and in the checkout, so customers understand their payment options before they commit. When a customer selects Novuna Finance as their payment method at checkout, they are seamlessly redirected from the Magento checkout to the secure Novuna Finance application portal, where they complete their application, receive an instant credit decision, and — if successful — e-sign their agreement. Throughout this process, Magento communicates with the Novuna platform via webhooks, meaning order and application statuses are updated in real time inside the Magento admin panel without the merchant needing to log in to a separate system.

For example, a furniture retailer running Magento could use this module to display monthly instalment options on every product page, increasing the likelihood that a customer adds a high-value item to their basket. At checkout the customer selects “Pay with Finance,” is taken to the Novuna portal to complete a short application, receives an instant decision, and if approved the order is confirmed back in Magento automatically. If the application is declined or referred, the customer is seamlessly redirected to alternative payment options or a custom CMS page of the merchant’s choosing, ensuring no basket abandonment due to a failed application. The module also supports Google Tag Manager and GA4 tracking so merchants can measure the impact of finance offerings on their conversion funnel.

Account & Pricing

Novuna Finance Merchant Account

A separate, approved merchant account with Novuna Consumer Finance is required before this extension can be configured and used. Your Novuna account is not created during extension installation — it must be set up independently and directly with Novuna prior to installing this module.

Novuna will assess your application and, if approved, assign you a dedicated Relationship Manager who will help you configure your finance offering and connect you to their API.

Please note that Novuna requires merchants to have a minimum of £2 million in annual sales turnover OR £50,000 in finance arranged in the last year. Novuna does not currently work with businesses in certain sectors (e.g. renewable energy, dentistry, invasive healthcare, clothing). Contact Novuna directly to confirm eligibility.

Novuna Finance Service Pricing

Novuna Finance does not publish a public pricing page. Fees for offering retail finance (such as subsidies for 0% interest-free products) are determined on a per-retailer basis and discussed during the account setup process with your Novuna Relationship Manager. Security & PCI Compliance

Integration Method

This extension uses a Redirect integration method. When a customer selects Novuna Finance as their payment method at the Magento checkout, they are redirected away from the Magento store to the secure Novuna Finance application portal hosted on Novuna’s own infrastructure. The customer completes their finance application, credit check, and e-signature process entirely on the Novuna platform. Once the application is complete, the customer is returned to the Magento store and the order status is updated via Novuna’s webhook.

Customer Data Entry

Customers do not enter sensitive personal finance data directly on the Magento merchant site. All personal details required for the finance application (such as name, address history, income information, and bank account details for Direct Debit) are entered by the customer on the Novuna Finance application portal, which is hosted and secured by Novuna. The Magento checkout collects only standard e-commerce information (shipping address, product selection, order total) in preparation for the redirect.

Customer Data Storage on the Magento Server

No sensitive financial application data or payment credentials are stored on the Magento server. The Magento platform receives and stores only standard order-level information (order status, customer address, and application reference identifiers) which is sent back via the Novuna webhook upon completion of the application process. Novuna handles all storage of financial application data in accordance with their own data protection and security obligations.

PCI DSS Compliance

Because customers are redirected to the Novuna platform to enter all financial and payment details, and because no cardholder data or sensitive financial credentials pass through or are stored on the Magento server, this integration is designed to meet the requirements of SAQ A (Self-Assessment Questionnaire A). SAQ A is the lowest-scope PCI DSS compliance level and applies to merchants who have fully outsourced all cardholder data functions to a PCI DSS compliant third-party (Novuna Consumer Finance). The Magento server itself does not transmit, process, or store cardholder or sensitive authentication data.

Novuna Platform Security

Novuna Consumer Finance is a regulated financial institution authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). All customer data entered on the Novuna application portal is handled in accordance with Novuna’s security policies, data protection obligations (UK GDPR), and applicable financial regulation. Novuna’s platform uses encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data transmission, and customer application data is stored securely on Novuna’s own infrastructure. Merchants should refer to Novuna directly for details of their PCI DSS certification and data processing agreements.

FCA & Regulatory Compliance for Merchants

Offering consumer credit in the UK is regulated activity under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000. Merchants are responsible for ensuring they hold the appropriate FCA authorisation (or are an Appointed Representative of an FCA-authorised firm) before offering regulated finance products to their customers. This extension supports FCA compliance by enabling merchants to display clear, accurate, and compliant finance messaging and representative examples throughout the customer journey, including on product pages and at checkout, in line with FCA rules on financial promotions. Merchants should seek appropriate legal or regulatory advice regarding their specific obligations when offering retail finance.
